If case you missed it for the last time...
Kings Rookie Camp Take 1 Kings Rookie Camp Take 2 I'm not reposting this after this, and the more you'll be further behind as training camp is coming up.
Anyways, Thursday afternoon Nommie and I went to the Kings' Rookie Camp since I was free that day. We were running a little late and therefore we missed some of the big boys (Cammy, Kopi, ect.) practicing. As soon as we got to the parking lot and everything, we see Cammy come out. Luckily Jenny was able to catch him or else we'd miss him. Then as usual I got my pic w/ him, but Nommie got it on vid. When we retook the pic, Greg and Joe, the camp regulars, were asking him for his stick and he told them he couldn't give em' away since he was going to get them customized. He did that while we were retaking the pic, and he ended up w/ a sad look on his face in our pic. He did sport a nice Italian soccer-looking shirt on and as always he's sweet. Nommie did tell him to score 45 goals or nothing.
Nommie snapped that pic of Cammy while chatting w/ Joe & Greg and informing them that he couldn't give his sticks away. He was smiling in the video shots though.
Anyways, the rest of the time were spent watching the rookies practice. Since I needed to use up my leftover film from my camera so that I can use them for my class assignments, I ended up taking most of the pix the old fashion way and getting some awesome shots, including some of Kevin Westgrath and Brian Boyle. Marc-Andre Cliche was also on the ice, but he left after the break. :( I hope he's a okay. Also after the break the boys had some mini scrimmage game, and Boyle is one tough cookie. He slammed one guy onto the boards, like he was in a mosh pit. Luckily none of the guys got into a fight because of this. In all, I didn't really pay too close attention as I should since all I cared about was getting the perfect shot w/ my camera and using up that whole roll of film. I did take a couple w/ my digital camera. I might post the rest some other time.
In a way, the way the boys were dressed up in their hockey gear reminded me so much of the star wars-like hockey players in the movie Strange Brew.
After practice, we were able to meet a handful of players including Jack Johnson (JMFJ), Brian Boyle and plenty of others. Of all players, we missed Marc-Andre Cliche. I guess because he prolly left right away after the 2nd break. Therefore missed Cliche failed. :( Hopefully I can catch him this coming week at Training Camp.
Ned Lukacevic
Matt Fillier - A Q player from the Fog Devils. I was so tempted to grab & eat some of his chocolate covered peanuts or raisin in his cup. :P
Les Gardiens: Jonathan Quick & Nommie. I was amazed that he still somewhat remembered us. He's a very sweet guy!
Me & Jon Quick
JMFJ showing his Trojans love. Now I have an excuse to like the USC Trojans even more. ;)
Brady Murray - He's so adorable!
Patrik Hersley
Brian Boyle - He's HUGE yet so HOT! RawRrrr...
Vladimir Dravecky - "The Silent Slovak" since he was so quiet that it was creepy. He only mumbled thank you or something. More than likely it's the whole language barrier. Poor Guy. :(
Then we headed over to Manhattan Beach for dinner. I was hoping to do some of my photoshoots there, but by then it was getting dark and cloudy. So we ended up having dinner at Shell Back, another Kings/hockey hot spot.
In all, it was a fun filled night.
I have to get going soon. I'll be doing some more photo shoots then Nommie and I will be meeting up w/ Danie &
irislily for the Sharks vs. Ducks rookie game.
Anyways, have a wonderful weekend. I'm glad hockey is back!!!
[Comments appreciated & I really mean it!!! Thanx a lot!]
P.S.
I have a whole massive photo spammage of my summer that I want to post, including the Kwiki Mart, Blaqk Audio signing and the Kings Inline Tournament. Due to a lack of comments on some of my important photo post and even a lack of enthusiasm lately, I won't post them unless you want me to. I'll only post them if you're interested. Please let me know if you want to see them or not. Otherwise, I'll won't post them at all or only let a select few see them in a filtered post.
