*Whores Up Her Journal One Last Time. I'm pretty sure you're all sick of hearing from me.*
I know I've written so much about the Ice Dogs lately and more than likely you're sick and tired of hearing about them. You don't understand how much the Ice Dogs mean to me especially when this team grew attached to me.
Anyhow, the Ice Dogs indeed suspended operations, but there's a slim chance they'll come back. I hope I'm not too late on this, but all we could do for the time being is voice opinions by stuffing e-mails... Last week, Spike posted a letter to us fans on his Myspace in regards to helping to save the team.
Dear Fans,
Thank you for your continued support throughout the years. Several of you have sent emails to this account regarding your Long Beach Ice Dogs. Numerous fans and the Long Beach Ice Dogs booster club are banning together to SAVE the team. Here is how you can help.
Write an email to the follow individuals expressing your devotion to the team. It doesn't matter if you are from an opposing team, a local fan, or one who occasionally comes to the Long Beach Arena for hockey. In this respect we are on the same team.
We are all fans of hockey. Without hockey in Long Beach, teams such as Bakersfield, Fresno, Stockton, Las Vegas and Phoenix will have increased travel expenses. Without hockey in Long Beach the fan base will loose a social aspect that some of us have been apart of for the last 12 years.
In your email, explain what the Ice Dogs mean to you. Share your experiences with the team. Share your devotion of hockey. The following are the contact emails:
sbash@icedogs.com
tfoxman@icedogs.com
Michael_Conway@longbeach.gov
Reginald_Harrison@longbeach.gov
This is where you all come in. I know many of you are not familiar w/ hockey (and I know some of you are not hockey fans, but you can help out if you want to) let alone the Ice Dogs, but I'd like to have you all to stuff the owners of the Ice Dogs' plus the City of Long Beach's e-mails and sugar coat them as much as possible whether you're a fan of the Ice Dogs or not. Please tell them how much the Ice Dogs and/or hockey means so much to you, and how things would be like w/o hockey. The more sugar coating, the better... The more people who takes the time to read all of this, listen to me for once instead of ignoring me, and taking the time to write e-mails to these 4 guys, the merrier. In fact, Steve Bash mentioned this on
This Article...
""It's kind of sad. There wasn't as much of a rallying cry as I hoped we would get," Bash said. "I received a dozen e-mails - the same dozen people have supported the team through thick and thin. I wish there were hundreds of e-mails, any sign of life. But 10 or 20 voices, no matter how loud they are, wouldn't make a difference."
That means we need to voice our opinions on keeping the team. I know some of you really want to go to an Ice Dogs game while some of you were in a similar situation as me w/ your favorite teams. Could you imagine your favorite hockey teams either moving elsewhere or completely folding? I'm already saddened that the Ice Dogs are gone. Had it been the Kings (which the chances of moving/folding is likely very slim), I'd be beyond devistated.
Hopefully w/ our battle crys, the owners & the City of Long Beach will reconsider and hopefully bring the team back. If not, it's still worth trying...
Anyways, thank you so so much! Much greatly appreciate it x 1000! :D :D :D
Always,
Princess Leah
P.S.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who did read and/or commented on the previous Ice Dogs posts I made. Much greatly appreciate it. :D :D :D
