Picking up where I left off... As always, image heavy so dial up/slow computers beware. Anyhow...
Friday: First time in a while I went to the Kings practice. As always, I get there late since I had to take care of a bunch of things before leaving the house. I did watch some of the ice session but soon after it was dying off. As I was taking a bunch of pix of Anze, he out of nowhere threw the puck over the ice. I grabbed the puck and handed it to this family w/ a baby boy, but the mother insisted that I keep the puck. So I did and decided to have Anze sign it. While a bunch of players were over at the bench switching jerseys, Cammy was sitting on the bench w/ his jersey off. I was hoping he'd return to the ice, but he ended up leaving early. I get out for a bit to check and see if the Canucks were out and around since their equipment were all being loaded. I didn't spot any Canucks players out. Worse, I see Cammy come out, but there was nobody going after me and I was too shy to run to him plus he was far from reach. All I could do was wave to him and he waved back.
Soon after, the on ice session was over and ppl. were coming out to wait for the players. I didn't catch many players, but I did meet and had my pix w/ Alexander Frolov and Anze Kopitar while I also met Sean Burke, Kevin Dallman and Jamie Lundmark. I felt so bad for having Anze sign both my pic and puck since he was in a rush, but I did thank him for the puck. I missed Dustin Brown, Pat O'Sullivan, John Zeiler and a bunch of players since I'm too damn shy and hesistant to chase after them. I did meet a handful of ppl. including a set of sisters and their mom from Lincoln who were Avalanche fans, the Ice Dogs's merch guy and the regulars that I normally see at practice, especially Mike and Greg.

Once all of the players left, I walked all the way to Sepulveda Blvd. to get lunch. From there, I took the next green line and went all the way back to L.A. Union Station to catch the Metrolink to San Bernardino. From there, Nommie picked me up from the station and we were on our way to Fontana for the NASCAR Midway event where we were supposed to meet the drivers and stuff. It turns out that you had to have tix to the race itself to go to the Midway instead of having tix to the Midway alone. Since Nommie didn't want to spend money on the tix, we ended up leaving. We took an impromptu trip to Riverside where we did some cd shopping at Mad Platter and had crepes as well as pizza at the place formerly known as Liberty Pizza. It's a bitter shame Liberty Pizza is gone because not only were their pizza cheap, but they had the best lasagna ever! After our trip to Riverside, we went to the Ontario rink where Nommie was playing pick up hockey.
The Cat Rental Store Across The Street From The Fontana Speedway. You can't really see the sign, but it really says "The Cat Rental Store" I kid you not! The more I miss the Wildcats' video/radio feeds from last season...
Nommie In His Hockey Gear
Saturday: Our day started early by driving to Long Beach for the Bowling Tournament. We were supposed to bowl w/ the Ice Dogs as well as the Alaska Aces, but both teams bailed. Coach Aduono decided to have a special practice instead of kick back and bowl (which sucks but I guess that's what they get for losing the night before) and I dunno why the Aces bailed out. Either way, we still had a wonderful time bowling and the mascots alone kept us entertained. Frank The Falcon kept picking on me. In all, it was a crazy fun day.
Mascot Bowling Pix After bowling, we went to Toyota Sports Center in hopes of catching a Kings practice, but it was long over. So we ended up going to lunch at Mama D's in Manhattan Beach, another Kings hot spot since I heard Mama D's is some of the Kings players' favorite restaurant. The food was excellent and we were so stuffed. Then we tried to go check and see if the Ice Dogs were having their practice, but the whole arena was closed. By then I was so exhausted and sore. On our way home, we went to the L.A. International Artshow mainly because one of my current instructors, Laurel Paley (or Ms. Paley as she prefers to be called) had a couple of her artworks there. Although I have her for my computer assisted drawing class, her work was outside of the digital work and back to traditional art w/ some installation. In all, her work as well as the 100+ artworks featured in that show were excellent. As soon as we got home, we watched the Kings vs. Avs game on t.v., but I feel asleep since I was so sore and exhausted after being out all day long for the past 2 days.
A clever way to tag the bathroom stalls...
Sunday: I went art supply shopping as well as went back to Lens Crafter for a follow up plus to get my eye glasses adjusted. As soon as all of these were done, Nommie and I went to the Ice Dogs game since he got free tix from Hockey Monkey while shopping for hockey gear a few days earlier. We got there around 2nd period, but from there on they got scored on by the Falcons and the rest of the way it was all downhill. Go figure! We did get our tix for the Players Awards Banquet Next Month and I won a stick signed by the mascots.
After the game, we stayed for the Team Autograph session. The line was so much longer than last year's autograph session, but at least it was more organized and the players all wore their jerseys under their stinky undergear. I was afraid the line would be cut off since we were towards the end, but the autograph session went on until the last person was done. I took pix of every single player since Laura wanted pix. They signed my index cards and hockey stick. Before we left, I wanted my pic w/ Eric Neilson so we went up to him. I was wearing my Slovak jersey since I felt like wearing it plus Nommie got it for me for $20. Anyways, he asked me what nation was it from, I told him Slovakia. Then he commented on how he likes my jersey, and we all had a convo. on hockey gears and stuff. More reasons to love Eric Neilson! He's becoming my favorite Ice Dogs player.
The rest of the night were spent going on a night time fastfood run and the traditional post game drink at Starbucks.
I still miss last year's team though... Anyhow...

Monday & Tuesday: It was uneventful except I spent all lastnight cleaning up my computer so that I can install the Adobe Creative Suite 2 onto my computer. I'm gonna teach myself how to use InDesign and eventually Dreamweaver. Nonetheless, I can finally do more homework on my computer. Yesterday was also the trade deadline. I have to admit that some of the Kings trades were disappointing, especially trading away Captain Mattias Nortstrom. Matti has been w/ the Kings for ages. He was barely w/ the Kings when I first got into hockey. Now he's gone which was no surprise. I do miss Matti already though. The Pens got Georges Laraque from the Coyotes to protect Sid, Geno, Staalsy, ect. We'll see how it goes but it's about time the Pens got someone tough who'll be there to protect their key players. Joe Rullier on the otherhand got traded again... This time he ended up going to the Lightning. So at least I don't have to be too obligated to go to the Ducks' training camp just to meet him. Jason Ward's stay w/ the Kings didn't last very long since he got traded to the Lightning as well...
Wednesday: Catching up on LJ after nearly neglecting it, and classes as usual. We have to make a bookcover for my class, and I'm gonna do mines on Sylvia Plath. Doing the research alone has gotten me more facinated on Sylvia Plath and her works. I can't wait to see how the project turns out.
Things I'll be looking forward to in March...
3/17: The Skills Competition & Kings vs. Blue Jackets Game
3/21: Circa Survive w/ Cute Is What We Aim For
3/26: The Ice Dogs Players Awards Banquet
I have till the 26th of March to do the following:
*Make Mixed CDs For Eric Neilson (and maybe Mark Tobin, Gabe Proulx & Mark Hurtubise-It doesn't help much when most of the team have the most vague taste in music...)
*Find/Buy any old Rimouski L'Oceanic programs-particularly ones from when Sid The Kid was w/ the team.
*Lose weight and be able to fit into a sliming dress.
We won't know who'll be at our table since we didn't get to pick a player we wanted. Unlike before, I won't be doing a phone post. The only players worthy of doing a phone post will be Eric Neilson and maybe Kip if he returns to the Ice Dogs. We'll see...
Today: It's Misty's 18th Birthday (or 126 In Cat Years). I can't believe she's still alive after all of these years. I've had her since I was 7 years old. She has out live our many fishes, my pet rat Timothy, my dog Brett, and prolly my turtles Spuzzy & Drewsky, unless they are still alive at the pond. Anyways, Happy Birthday Kitty Monster!
Well, that's all for now. I feel like passing out and I'm getting all cranky. My Tues./Thurs. classes are taking a lot out of me since I'm in class from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. w/ a break between classes from 11:20 a.m. - 1 p.m.
P.S.
*whew* That was much longer than expected. Thank you so much for reading this all though. ^^
[Comments Appreciate It. I had to start all over since nobody commented and likely missed this. I hope you still haven't forgotten me... I did add some stuff from today. :)]
