Players Spotting @ Uncle Bill's Pancake House & Friday 5

I'll have an entry on today's Kings practice, a dream I had this morning, and other things, but this story I so have to share before I forget.

After practice, Nommie and I decided to go to Manhattan Beach for lunch. We ended up going to Uncle Bill's Pancake house. I heard it was a hot spot for Kings hockey players according to Rob Blake via "In My Own Words". If I recall, I think that's where he met his wife Brandy since she used to work there or something like that. We thought we'd go there and try it out. Anyhow, as we were crossing the street, I see a very familiar car parked right in front of the restaurant. It looked like the "Cammilicious Mobile" Cammy's white Mercedes Benz. I had this gut feeling he'd be having lunch there. As soon as we got in, he was there alone having his own lunch. Mind you I didn't meet him at practice today since I had to get players that were parked inside the gated area (Craig Conroy, Lubomir Visnovsky, Dan Cloutier, Oleg Tverdovsky, Aaron Miller, Mattias Norstrom, ect.) aka "Drive Thru Autograph Session" while he parked in the main parking area. Knowing our hockey etiquettes, we didn't bother asking for his auto and his pic, but he did smile and knodded his head to us. We sat close to him, but by the time we were done ordering our food, he was done w/ his lunch and left, taking a quick glance at us.

The many times I've been to Manhattan Beach, I've never seen any of the Kings players there. This was the first time I spotted any Kings players let alone Mike Cammalleri at a random place. The closest we have ever spotted hockey players at a hotel and/or restaurant were Anze Kopitar and Pat O'Sullivan at the Hilton Gardens. Just seeing Cammy randomly at Uncle Bill's totally made up for not meeting him at practice.

Cammy wasn't the only player we spotted today. While driving down Spepulveda Blvd., Scott Thornton drove right past us.

I'll have more on the practice and dream later on... Till then, have a wonderful night. Take care. :D
