[Warning: Lots of pix under the cuts, so 56k beware. Still worth checking out though.]
Finally, an actual entry of my life after all of this time... I've been meaning to post, but I'm either out and around or so drained that I either get to lazy to post an entry or fall asleep. My body hates me and my sleep pattern is more than fucked up. Anyhow...
9-24-06: I went to Riverside for Nommie's pick up hockey game. I was freezing my ass off, but it was so worth it because not only did I get to see my baby play, but I met a lot of his hockey buddies as well. There was almost a hockey fight on the ice as well. After the pick up game, we went to church at St. Catherines, then we went to one of his hockey buddie's bbq get together. It was so fun despite me not feeling that great that day. Then we went to the Tyler and Sounds Like Music Store before heading home.
I saw "The Asshole" and his brother at Walgreens when we were getting drinks. He only looked at us, that all. He didn't say anything else nor did I do anything destructive. Besides, they were leaving as we were getting in the store.
How often do you see goalies in the penalty box? BTW, there were 3 goalies playing and rotating, and whoever wasn't playing would sit in the penalty box rather than at the bench.
9-25-06: Last minute Nommie and I went to the Kings vs. Ducks preseason game since the game was free (well almost since there was a $4.50 Ticketmaster charge). It was so worth going! Despite the Ducks having a 3-0 lead early in the game, the Kings came back and tied the game 3-3 which lead to overtime and eventually the shoot out. Eric Belanger got the game winning goal, and the Kings won 4-3. It was about time I went to a game where the Ducks would lose (since 1998, every Ducks game I've went to, the Ducks would always win. Not a good thing because I despise the Ducks a lot). This would be the last time I see Gleas and Belly play.
Me w/ Baby Gui. Baby Gui is normally my Habs bear & originally I was supposed to take him to an Ice Dogs game, but due to us being uncertain on when we'll go to an Ice Dogs game, we decided to take him to this game. He had to change into his Team Canada outfit since he'd be caught dead wearing his Habs gear @ Staples Center (There are some Kings fans who hate the Habs and are still bitter over the 1993 Stanley Cup finals). The Team LA Sales Associates liked Baby Gui and thought he was cute. BTW... Baby Gui has been a good luck charm, but I think I'm speaking too soon...
9-29-06: Friday evening I took the Metrolink to Riverside for UC Riverside's Block Party. Nommie picked me up at the Riverside Station and we hung out at downtown for a bit. From there, we went to UCR for the Block Party. The last block party I went to was 2004, my last year of my college life, where I met up w/ Rachel, helped out w/ The Ink Blot, and watched Thrice play. Anyways, The Summer Obsession were pretty much done w/ their set while Saosin were setting up, so we walked around, checking out the booths. I was able to run into Elaine and Abe @ the Kyrie booth, and I met a couple other Kyrie members. From there, we got our spot to go see Saosin. As for their set, it was better than expected despite watching them from far away. It was about time I saw them in full b/c I've either left their set early (@ Warped Tour) or missed most of their set (@ the AFI/Tiger Army show). They played a lot of their new stuff as well as old (including songs from the Anthony Green era). In all, they were great. After the show, we met Chris, one of the original members of the band since he was the only one hanging out w/ fans. Since it was getting late, we went to TGIF Fridays in San Bernardino before heading home.
9-30-06: Nommie, Rosalyn, and I took a trip to the Getty Museum. I wanted to take her out for her birthday plus it's been a while since we last hung out. Anyhow, we had lunch @ A Taste of Chicago before heading over to the Getty. Prior to this trip, the last time I went to the Getty was in the summer of 1998. Anyhow, it was really nice as usual. We saw a handful of art pieces. The view from the Getty is always beautiful, even if it's during a cloudy day. The only downfalls were that it was extremely crowded @ the West Pavillion that we couldn't see a lot of works for very long, and the photo exhibits were temporarily closed down. At the Getty store, I got 2 Graphic Design related books. After the museum trip, we had dinner at Genio's. We were part of history because that was the last night Genio's would ever be open. After that, it's gonna be closed down. It's uncertain if that place will ever relocate. I hope so because it'd be a bitter shame considering the food was good, and they had one of the best chocolate mousse. :9 In all, we had an amazing day and night. A big thanx to Rosalyn for giving us a handful of Kings swag. Much greatly appreciate it. :D
Getty Trip Pix Till then, pretty much everything has been uneventful. However, so many things have been going on since hockey season is about to start so soon...
Old & Newish News from Hockey Land...
Goodbye Belly & Gleas, Welcome Oleg & Jack "Mother ****ing" Johnson HAHAHA!!! @ Granulov Dear Olivier, Will You Please Come Back to the Ice Dogs? The Kings' 2006-07 Final Roster Goodbye Labby & Team Tukonen... I hope all goes well in Manchester! So long George Parros/Cookie Twin/Gilby Clarke. I hope all goes well for you in Colorado! And how dare you leave off Jeff Cowan!!! Same for the Canucks for leaving out Luc Bourdon on their roster. Grrr...
Luc Bourdon, Guillaume Latendresse, Jordan Staal & Kris Letang all made the final cut... Yay!!! Unlike last season where I wanted Sidney to win the Calder all the way, there's a handful of players I'd like to see win the Calder: Luc Bourdon, Anze Kopitar, Pat O'Sullivan, Gui Latendresse, Evgeni Malkin, Gilbert Brule & hopefully Kris Letang, Jordan Staal, and Hannu Toivanen. As long as Granulov doesn't win, it's all good. I've like cursed those poor rookies. Al well...
Speaking of Luc Bourdon
A big thanx to mbas99 for posting this. I needed some Lucness/Memorial Cup, especially when I couldn't really watch it.
Well, that's all for now. Till then, have a wonderful day.
P.S.
I may start commenting back on comments, so don't be alarmed and annoyed if you're getting lots of comments back from me from past entries.
