At Last... My Summer Vacation Officially Starts

Aug 05, 2006 15:17

I'm alive again after being on hiatus due to finals week, but thank good summer session is over. I'll pretty much be free until August 28th when I return to school for Fall. However, that doesn't mean I'll be bumming around the house doing nothing but sitting on my ass on LJ, Myspace, AIM, MSN, ect. I still need to clean my room plus Santi's fish tank, do some job search, run errands and so on. I'll also be going out w/ Nommie and other friends, so don't expect me to be around all day and night long, but when I'm free and settled I should be available more. I'll still be taking photographs for Travel Town, but I'll also be doing work for mines & casia's church's 100th Anniversary Committee. I have volunteered to do some graphic work, mainly set up the calendar of events and put together ads for St. Robert Bellarmine 100th Anniversary celebration since they needed a graphic designer, especially one who works w/ Quark Express since most printing places use Quark. In addition, I'll be helping out w/ other stuff within the church and 100th Anniversary celebration.

Since I last wrote, I watched Nommie play hockey Friday night, found a couple sweet vintage hockey swag (a Pens shirt and NY Rangers jersey) @ SLOW Vintage shop in Melrose, worked on my finals projects and putting together my notebook-and having them all turned in yesterday, and getting the a/c up and running yesterday although this past week has been cooler than the week before. I also got a new camera to replace the old one I broke 2 weeks ago after the nasty fall at Travel Town. It's a Nikon Coolpix 5200. It's soooooo much better than my old camera. Although I'll have to be extra careful using it, I still can't wait to use it. A big thanx to Nommie for getting me a new camera. Much greatly appreciate it.:D

As for fall classes, I'll be taking Illustration and Rendering.

Pretty much this past week has been rather eventful, and the rest of the month will pretty much be uneventful until September. However, last minute Nommie and I lastnight watched some local bands play at No Future coffee shop a couple blocks away from campus. The first band-Minutes to Memories was pretty good. They were much better than expected. She Said Dakota was alright, but Art of Chaos were a bit dissapointing, so we left after a couple songs. In addition to seeing 3 bands, we had free coffee drinks. We'd like to one day come back to see more bands there in the future.

While the rest of August will be dead, September is likely gonna be eventful. Here's what I'm looking forward to next month:

Sept. 8-12: Pacific Division Prospect Shootout at Toyota Sports Center, aka Operation Yandle Face, Olivier Latendresse & P-O Pelletier Day. I so have to meet those guys plus Peter Mueller and Chris Summers along w/ my Kings Babies. In addition, I plan on meeting Baby Berns again along w/ Anze Kopitar, Pat O'Sullivan, Lauri Tukonen and more... I'd like to go to a couple of the practice sessions.

Sometime after the Prospects Shoot Out is the Kings' training camp. I have to keep the tradition going and at least go to one day of camp.

Sept. 15: AFI w/ Tiger Army & Saosin @ the Long Beach Arena.

Sept. 22: Canucks vs. Ducks aka Operation Luc Bourdon & Joe Rullier day... And Maxime Ouellet too for Yvette. Hopefully I can meet these guys. If not, I'll likely take lots of pix during the pregame skate. I still need to work on my Luc Bourdon shirt I've been putting off for ages.

In other hockey news, the Ice Dogs signed 3 new players including Alex Kim-who used to go to the Kings prospect camp from way back in the days and Mark Hurtubise, an ex-Q player who used to play for the Remparts and Foreurs. So for now Mark is one of the French 5 replacements now that Christian, Michael, Jimmy, and Olivier are gone (unless Ollie is willing to take the paycut and sign w/ the Ice Dogs as a free agent rather than play for St. Jean in LNAH. Hopefully Steeve will stick around.

Well, that's all for now. Till then, have a wonderful weekend.

P.S.

Sometime this week I'll be on AIM w/ my new AIM SN that'll soon be announced. I want to thank everyone for taking the poll. Much greatly appreciate it. ^^ I'll also get back on MSN and Yahoo just if case you use those more than AIM.
