I'm Still Alive Despite The Heatwave...

Jul 28, 2006 09:51

Hey everyone... I'm still alive, still battling a house sans A/C in 100+ degrees of heat for over a week. Unfortunately the A/C won't be fixed until next Thursday. The heat has been making me feel tired and unproductive lately hence my lack of updates is due to the fact that this week has been rather uneventful, unless reading about my classes, swimming, and battling the heat and using 2 electric fans facinates you. At least I'm still alive...

At least 2 things have been eventful since I last wrote.

Sunday: I finally got to see puckplayer42 after pretty much a week not seeing him. We ended up not watching the Imax version of Superman since it was getting late, I didn't want to pay $10 for parking at Universal Studios, and I still had a project to finish up. So we ended up going to Burbank to see Superman. To kill time, we were at the mall where I ended up getting a moose dressed up as a Canadian Mountie at Animal Land. We named him Marty Moose. I plan on getting another Mountie Moose when finals are over, and giving it to Ron & Diane (and Jacquie too), the owners of The Canadian Cafe, since they have a handful of mooses and their logo is a moose dressed as a mountie not to mention their wonderful service each time I go there.

After that, we went to this All Sports store where I found an old school Penguins sweatshirt for $15. As we were ready to pay for it, I was telling puckplayer42 how I plan to wear it to the Penguins vs. Ducks game. This guy overheard us, and mentioned November 6th. Then we ended up chatting and stuff. He happend to be a Penguins fan originally from Pittsburgh. He was happy to know that we were Penguins fans, although the Kings are still #1. He too plans on going to the Kings vs. Pens game as well as Pens vs. Ducks games in November. Hopefully we could run into him and his family.

After our trip to the mall, we had dinner at Elephant Bar before watching Superman. As for Superman 2, it was a pretty good movie. Some parts were sad otherwise the story flowed well. I still don't get the first part otherwise the bad guy inheriting this lady's fortunes. Was she a key character or was she just a random rich woman the bad guy went after?

As soon as I got home, I worked on one of the projects that was due the following day (it's taken me about a week to work on that whole entire letters drawing, but thankfully I was done at 3 despite having Starbucks to keep me awake and 2 fans running and trying to keep me cool.

One major project done... 3 more to go plus my folder before, all due sometime next Thursday. Once again please don't not disturb. Much greatly appreciate it. ^.^

Tuesday: Class got cancelled since Sue, the instructor, had a migraine...

Yesterday: On my way to class, I usually get Jamba Juice for breakfast, if there's nothing good to eat at the house or if I don't want anything heavy for breakfast. Mind you I hate eating food early in the morning. Anyhow, the guy at the counter noticed that I had my "Kings Rule" keyholder, and he's all, "Kings fan?" Then he told me how he owns and still has an old school game used Gretzky jersey w/ the fight straps and everything. Unfortunately he stopped following the Kings once Gretzky left L.A., but I did keep him up to date a little on the Kings now...

Speaking of Kings... Here's some hockey news...

The Kings re-signed Mike Cammalleri for 1-year, $1.7 million on Wednesday. That news made me tres happy because he doesn't have to go to arbitration today... So yay!!!

WJC Developmental Camp:

While Baby Bernier is doing well and playing (and the poor guy's team keeps losing) despite hurting his knee at the Kings Developmental Camp, Guillaume Latendresse gets hurt again. He collides w/ Steve Downie during Game 1 of the Red vs. White series, and gets a concussion. Please get well soon Gui, but don't ever ever ever go clean shaven again!!! You always have bad luck when you go clean shaven. Please stick w/ your trademark goatee! ^^

Luc Bourdon on the other hand...

Taken from hockeycanada.ca

He's so indie rock!!! Boys and guitars make me wanna melt! Somehow I knew one way or another he'd be a perfect fit for a indie boy rocker b/c a while back Nommie and I were discussing how Brent Sopel, Luc Bourdon, Ryan Miller, and few others should form an indie rock band since they look like indie boys. ;)

Sadly the Ice Dogs keep falling apart. Derick Martin signs w/ the Inferno. That was one of Laura's favorite players and she's gonna be so sad when he leave the Ice Dogs. I'll miss him too.

Pink Jerseys Anyone?

Lastly... For penguinsrcool9 and Anyone Interested...

Back Center: Marc-Andre Malone
From Left to Right: Maxime Talbot (Baby Max), Evgeni (aka Frigid), Jordan (aka Tux), Baby Colby, & Baby Sidney w/ Mario.

Well, gotta go now. Till then, have a wonderful day. Ciao!
