Hockey Madness Weekend Take 1: Kings vs. Stars Game
Tonight was a funfilled night...
Anyways, puckplayer42 and I first had our pregame dinner at the Fox Sports Skybar while watching some of the Leafs/Sabres game before all the tvs were tuned into the UCLA Basketball game (Boo hiss!!! I HATE BASKETBALL!!!!!). The food was great as always, but I was soooooo full so we decided to take our food out. On our way to the parking lot, we see a homeless guy, so as always I gave my leftovers to him since he'd need it more than us plus I was too full to even think about my food plus I didn't feel like walking all the way to the parking lot to put our food away.
As soon as we got in, I got a voice message from C telling me where she's at. So we go down the ice level and meet up w/ her and her friend Anna at the Kings' bench. From there we watched the Kings' pregame skate at the Kings bench. I even took some pix of Cammy including one of him entering the tunnel. As soon as the pregame skate was over, we showed them where the tunnel was before heading back to our seats. On our way to our seats, I got habschick101's Purple Kings Bear. From there the game started.

First period: The Kings were sloppy, so sloppy that I thought the Stars would score on us. Surprisingly JR scored for the Kings. Score 1-0.
1st Intermission: Met up w/ some LGKers @ the Team LA store as usual. Did some windowshopping there as well. I bidded for an autographed Mike Cammalleri pic since nobody was really bidding for it. We also went around and grabbed stack loads of those Mike Cammalleri game photos because we rule and Cammy means the world to me. ;)
2nd period: Nothing much except the power play sucked! We couldn't even fucking score on a 5 on 3 advantage. Although JR was still the hero, at the same time he kept screwing around, especially the power play. I so fucking wanted to strangle him. I so was afraid the Stars would score on us, but Man God Garon was on his head making kick ass saves. The only thing really exciting was Sean Avery getting into a fight with Brendan Morrow.

2nd Intermission: We were stalking anyone at the auction booth, checking to see if I got out-bidded. Then I saw this guy outbid me, and I was like "I got fucking outbidded! Forget it!" since I couldn't afford to outbid him back. Ah well... Although it's for a good cause, I could easily get Cammy's autography for free.
3rd Period: Nothing much except I still wanted to strangle JR plus strangle Brownie for taking too many penalties, nearly costing us the game. The last few minutes were tense though fearing the Stars would score, but we held on and won the game 1-0. 3 Stars: 3) Mattias Norstrom 2) JR 1) Mathieu Garon... I was surprised, shocked yet ecstatic that the Kings won because I didn't expect the Kings to win at all because they are still their crappy sloppy selves. I thought the Stars would win it all...
Anyways, after the game we met up with C & Anna at the tunnel where we'd meet up with players and stuff. Then we see Mike Modano and Sergei Zubov across the street, so we go there and meet Mike Modano since we might as well meet opposing players. Amazingly he was a total sweetheart and he seemed very relaxed. It seemed like he didn't mind me wearing my Kings jersey at all. So we had our pix taken and wished him luck. Although I don't like him and the Stars (sorry Stars fans & Modano lovers), he was still nice and sweet. So a change of heart for Mikey Mo. :D
While some Kings players drove off or took their precious time to get out, we spotted Johan Hedberg, so I got my pix taken with him and thanked him and everything. We also saw Jere Lehtinen and I got his autograph. As time went by, we got Mathieu Garon's autograph and stuff since he stopped and everything.
Then I see a handful of Finnish Stars players far away. One of the Stars fans pointed out that one of the guys in the group was Jussi Jokinen. I so wanted to meet him (all thanx to Mandie & Xti-Jussi started to grow into me). By the time they got to our direction, I kept screaming out Jussi, but by then he and the other Stars players were getting into this one getaway car. I kept calling him and wishing him a Happy Birthday since it was his birthday, but he didn't respond at all and just went inside the car. I was really bummed out that I didn't meet him but then again he 1) was in a party mood and would rather go out and party... 2) he was prolly couldn't understand me, couldn't hear me or both... 3) I had my Kings jersey on and he's prolly wonder... wtf? Why's there a Kings fan calling me? Oooops! Then the Stars fan told us that it was rather unusual for him to do that because he's usually approachable. Ah well...
I still had yet to see Cammy leave. Then I see a guy drive off in a Chrystler... I thought at first it was Coach Torchetti, but the kids waiting with us informed us that it was Cammy driving off in the Chrystler... I was like WTF!!!!??? Then C, Anna & I were all wondering why Cammy was driving a Granny Car??? I'm still like, why the fuck the Granny Car instead of his Cammiliciousmobile (aka his white Mercedes Benz). I'm sorry Cammy, but you're much better off driving the Cammiliciousmobile than the Grannymobile... BTW... If I knew it was him, I'd soooooo wave to him and get him to stop, but he sped off... Ah well.
We waited and waited until Craig Conroy came out. I let C & Anna talk to him since he's the one who hooked them up with their tix (one of many reasons why I < 333 Conny). Then Labby wasn't too far behind. I had him sign my game photo and commented on his shirt and tie. Then out of nowhere his wife told me that she liked my shirt. I was just wearing my 3/4 sleeved green and white baseball t I got at American Apparel, but she still commented on it. Much props to Labby's wife for liking my shirt and having great fashion taste. :D
Then finally Corvs came out, and I got him to sign my game pic and I got my pic w/ him before he sped off. As usual, his wife Angela was with him and being her pretty self as always.
We then all walked together to the parking lot where I said goodbye to C & Anna.

I've since then not gotten any sleep at all. I've been working on my Canucks shirt that I'll be wearing to the Ducks/Canucks game, putting together Olivier's, Michael's & Steeve's cd (I still need to burn the cds & make the cd covers), uploading-touching up-ect. the pix, and writing this entry. The first time in ages (after plopping for the past few weeks) I pull an all nighter. I don't think I'll be able to sleep at all today because I still need to burn cds and make the cd cover and I have to get ready to go to church at 9:30, since I'll be leaving early for the game. We might stop by at the Kings' practice on our way to the Ducks/Canucks game... DAMN YOU DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!!!!! Now I can't sleep at all...
My Canucks shirt... And the paint job looks like shit! Earlier, the paintjob looked fine, but when I added another coat or more, I just got sloppy and impatient and painted the white parts while the blue and green parts were still drying. Ah well...
