Kings Fun 2 & 3: Kings vs. Blue Jackets & Tip A King

Mar 06, 2006 09:51

A weekend to remember...

I was supposed to have an entry on Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, but since I wasn't feeling too well, wasn't able to have a post until now. Therefore a super long entry since 2 entries will be merged into one...

Saturday: puckplayer42 and I barely got to Staples Center in time for the game, thus missing the pregame skate.

Anyways...

1st period. Although the score was 0-0, the Blue Jackets kept out shooting us, but Mathieu Garon kept coming up with those saves. *le sigh* We thought the Blue Jackets would eventually score on the Kings the way they were playing...

1st Intermission: Went to the Team LA store to meet up w/ my fellow/fella LGKers. Then we went to the Royal Room, since outr tix had access there. It wasn't all that. It was just a little bar/lounge with overpriced drinks and appetizers, so we went back to our seats for the game.

2nd Period: It was a very sweet period for the Kings. Sean Avery, who's not really known as a goal scorer, scored 2 goals for the Kings. We were hoping he's pull off either a regular hat trick (he needed 1 more goal) or the Gordie Howe Hat trick (he just needed an assist and a fight). The refs were stupid as usual, missing on a lot of Blue Jackets penalties that should've been called.

2nd Intermission: We just went to the Team LA store, plus we placed ourselves in a Puck For A Buck raffle in which gave us a chance to win an autographed Mathieu Garon puck.

3rd Period: The Blue Jackets scored two goals on us. Grrrr... The refs were the same as usual. Then late in the period Adam Foote got penalized, and Mike Cammalleri scored on the Power Play giving the Kings a 3-2 lead. Then the last minute of the game, Sean Avery got penalized, and the crowd hated it. It was too scary to watch the last minute of the game since the BJs were on the power play, but the Kings held on to win the game. *le sigh le sigh le sigh*

Overall, it was an awesome game for the Kings. Finally of all games we've been to together, the Kings finally won! There was one guy a few rows behind us who called Jeremy Roenick "Grandma" and other obscenities to him. We so wanted to meet that guy since he can finally agree with us (I'm sorry, but I do NOT like Jeremy Roenick at all, plus he was making too many careless mistakes). Therefore... Jeremy Roenick = Grannie #2 (Alex Radulov is the original "Grannie").

After the game, I ended up getting 2 more stuffed animals (dust magnets) for my Kings family: a purple bear named Baby Parros & a cream colored monkey named Cammilicious (he's Petit Cammy's twin). Pix coming soon.

Then we waited by the underground parking lot for the drive thru autograph session. We waited for a while before the players started to drive by. Surprisingly Sean Avery came out, and stopped for the fans. I didn't get his autography, but I took a pic of him. Then after he left, the Commie Red Coats came and made things even more difficult to meet the players. Then Cammi comes by and stopped for everyone. He even gestured everyone to come to him, but those stupid Commie Red Coats only let one person at a time and this one kid (who was a big Jason LaBarbera fan) cut in line, and got Cammy. By the time he was done meeting him, those Commie Bastard Red Coats didn't let anymore people meet him, and I was so crushed that I was on the verge of tears. I totally understand that kids should have first dibs on meeting the players, but Cammy means so much to me, and I should've met him first (and deserved it even more since I was already having a rough day earlier for undisclosed reasons). Meeting Cammy would've made my day so much better. Ah well... Soon after Craig Conroy was with his family (especially his daughters and their friend(s) ) and they were heading over to the limo. Craig still stopped for the fans as always. In fact, I had him sign my ticket stub and my pic w/ him while I told him that kyuusei from i_wanna_puck said Hi to him, and how hockeychix98 had fun at the game she went to the night before.

We also spotted Sergei Federov crossing the street, and puckplayer42 was taunting him, screaming out insults and stuff. Sergei was still on his phone yapping, but at the same time he was pissed off. That was a total classic! LMAO!

Unexpectedly we spotted some Blue Jackets players walking around and stuff. I was about to get Pascale LeClaire (since I still remember him during his Halifax Moosehead days), but he just walked off plus I was in my Kings jersey. Then Rick Nash came by and signed for the fans. By the time he got to me, I asked him if I could have my pic w/ him, and he said sure. So still in my Kings jersey, we had our pix taken. That was the biggest highlight of my day because not only was Rick Nash sweet enough to sign for fans and have my pic w/ me, but I finally met a 1st overall pic which doesn't happen very often (unless you have a player picked 1st overall in your team). He totally made up for not meeting Cammy.

Then finally when Jason LaBarbera came out, the same kid who cut just to meet Cammy let us take first dibs on Labby, but by then we were a bit hesitant to meet him since he wasn't really willing to sign. So we let him meet his idol, and soon after we left.

We had dinner at this Italian place close to the Galleria, and stopped by at Tower Records and Borders before heading home.

The rest of the night I was so spent since I wasn't feeling too well that night. :(

Overall, it was an alright day. Good b/c of the game, but shitty the rest of the way (and I rather not say more so we'll leave it that way).

Yesterday: puckplayer42 and I at the last minute decided to go to Tip A King, to make up for missing Cammy plus I wanted to meet Joe Corvo since I've missed him as well. Also, it's been years (1999) since I've been to Tip A King.

Anyways, we get there about an hour late, but we were still able to get in and stuff. The first booth I went to was Mike Cammalleri's & Tim Gleason's booth...

Cammy's & Glee's booth: I had Cammy pesonalize and sign my jersey, and we had our pix and stuff. After our pix were taken, I gave Cammy a hug, but Glee said to us, "no kissing". I was all "don't worry, I won't kiss him". :blushes: Then I had Glee sign my program, but he signed the cover instead of his pic. I brought that to his attention, he said "oops!" Overall, he was in a teasing/playful mood (more later).

Cammilicious & Me & LOL @ Glee

Tim Gleason

Corvs's & Puppy's (Sean Avery's) booth: I had Corvs personalize and sign my jersey. He almost signed with the black sharpie, but then he switched to a silver pen. While he was signing my jersey, I asked him what are his Top 2 bands (puckplayer42 and I came up w/ an idea of asking players what they really listen to and stuff so that we can interact with them even more plus we were wondering if they'd be into the same bands/music as us). It took him a while to answer, but the first band he mentioned was Led Zepplin. Then he was totally undecided on the 2nd band, so he had to get Sean to help him out. I don't think Corvs told me who his 2nd band was, but Sean mentioned other classic rock bands such as Chicago. Anyways, it also took us a while to get our pix b/c he was still not done signing my jersey. He ended up writing some cute message before signing his name on it. Then we had out pix taken, and I gave him a hug. Overall, that was the best meeting I've had with him. Not only that, but he smelt so yummy since he had cologne on. *swoons* At least Sean on the other hand mentioned other cool bands including Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Social Distortion, and he mentioned how he was at a Van Morrison concert as well.

Me & Corvs

Sean Avery

Dustin Brown's & Derek Armstong's Booth: Tripod/Brownie had all of his teeth!!! So no toothless grin. Nonetheless he looked uber cute as usual, and I even told him that he had a cute smile. He might've said thanx, but I didn't catch it or he didn't say thanx at all. Derek Armstrong still looks hot as usual and much younger than 32. ;)

Brownie & Army

The Goalie Booth (Jason LaBarbera & Mathieu Garon): We both met them at the same time. puckplayer42 asked Labby what other bands he likes besides Metallica (his goalie mask is a Metallica theme), and he mentioned a lot of classic rock bands including Queen, The Beatles, ect. and he mentioned Audioslave as well...

Us w/ Jason LaBarbera & Mathieu Garon

Then it was intermission... So we had lunch during the Live Auction. The lowlight of Tip A King was when I spilt some of my food onto my Corvo jersey, leaving small stains on it since it's a road jersey. I just washed that jersey, and now I can't wash it anymore. :( At least it didn't get onto the number...

We also looked through the silent auction tables...

For my fella Puckers on i_wanna_puck & Bergy Luvers... I was so tempted to bid for this, but we thought it was too much moolah. I wanted to bit for another Corvo jersey, but it was too pricy. Ah well...

The funniest thing was that someone bidded $1,800 to personally skate w/ Jeremy Roenick (a private skate session plus a personal hockey clinic).

Now back to meeting players...

The Kings Enforcers Booth (Ryan Flinn & George Parros): I asked Flinner how his head feels, and he said it's getting better and he's hoping he can play soon. Poor Guy. Then I asked George Parros what type of music he was in to, and he immediately told me it was country. I did mention to him how I was kinda into country, and how I like Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts. I also mentioned to him how he used to listen to hip hop (especially at the prospect camp when he was blasting Eve in his old run down Ford Bronco). Both guys were munching on cookies and talking with their mouths full (how rude! :P). Therefore for now on I shall call them the Cookie Twins...

The Cookie Twins/Kings Enforcers: Ryan Flinn & George Parros

Alexander Frolov's & Jeff Guiliano's Booth: I asked Alex how his shoulder is feeling, and he told me it was getting better. Then I asked Jeff what type of music he was into, but I have to keep asking since he couldn't hear me (plus my throat has been so out of it lately). He told me that he was pretty much into anything. Then he asked me what I was into, and I mentioned The Smiths and The Clash to him... Valeri Bure was also suppose to join them as well, but he didn't show up. :(

We were about to go to the Slovakian Sweetheart Booth (Pavs & Lubo), but the line was too long and Tip A King was ending soon, so we decided to go back to Cammy's & Glee's booth.

Cammy's & Glee's Booth Take Deux: I asked him who his favorite bands/music was, and he told me that Van Morrison was his favorite artist, and he even told me that he went to his concert lastnight. I told him that I went to a concert on Wednesday, but I didn't mention the bands since more than likely he'll have no idea who Hellogoodbye, Acceptance, Panic! At The Disco & The Academy Is... Are. Anyways, we had our pix taken and I hugged him while Glee kept picking on us. Then I had Glee sign his pic on the program.

This was totally an accident. I swear to God-Buddah-Allah-Moz-ect. that I had no intentions of molesting Cammy. I'd prolly been kicked out and I'd never see Cammy the same again if that happend. I didn't even realize that my hand was "there" until after I saw it. :blushes:

After we met Cammy & Glee, the boths were pretty much closed (thus we ended up missing Craig Conroy & The Slovaks), so we left. We ended up meeting up w/ Danielle at JT Schmitz in Anahiem for appetizers and a drink. She just got back from the Ducks game not too long ago.

As soon as dinner was over, we headed back home where I was so spent again.

An up close look at my devirginized jerseys...

Nice & simple... It didn't take him too long to get that done. ;)

Since Corvs didn't know what to write, he just put that there. Much < 333 to him. ;)

Overall... what a wonderful weekend. It was a rollercoaster ride, but overall I had loads of fun meeting/seeing my Kings boys as well as spending time with puckplayer42 I thank him for those wonderful 3 days of Kings madness...

Well, things are going back to normal now... Bleh! Speaking of which, I have to get ready for class soon. Till then, have a wonderful day. :D

GO KINGS!!!

P.S.

To all Pascale LeClaire Fans/Halifax Moosehead fans: Does anyone still remember Pascale during his Moosehead days? If so, did you ever meet him and was he ever nice? Just wondering? I know I was hesistant to meet him plus I don't think he intended to sign for anyone, but someone from the LGK board (he had a post on meeting BJ players @ letsgokings.com) tried to meet him at practice on Friday at the Toyota Sports Center, but he wouldn't sign for anyone. I dunno if it was just bad timing or if he was always that way. Anyways, thanx a lot. ^__^

P.S.S.

Can anyone see/read any of my entries? Just wondering. It's not really b/c of a lack of comments (I've been getting plenty of comments-which I need to get back to), but I know someone had difficulties seeing my entries... If you can read this entry w/o any problems, please let me know -k-. Thanx a lot! :D
