First off... Happy Belated 19th Birthday Luc "Bert" Bourdon!!! Although your ankle is still healing, I still hope the injury didn't spoil the fun and you had an amazing birthday. I hope your wishes will come true! Also, please get well soon and I wish you a well and speedy recovery so that you can help out the Wildcats in the playoffs as well as the Memorial Cup.
At last, A proper update after a full week. Finals plus all of the Vday/SAD festivities kept me on a very brief LJ hiatus.
Anyhow...
Last Friday: Spent the day w/
girlasleep. We had lunch at the Canadian Cafe, followed by a shopping trip to the Westfield Mall in Santa Anita where I got some stuff for the dinner date.
girlasleep gave me a couple of programs of the Philadelphia Flyers Rebel Without a Cost as well as an old L.A. Kings media guide. Thank you so much sweetie for everything. Much greatly appreciate it. ^__^
Later in the afternoon I watched some of the Wildcats/Sea Dogs game where I witnessed Bert Bourdon's horrible ankle injury. I cried when I saw him down and in a lot of pain. Poor Bert. :( I hope he feels better.
Some caps of poor Bert hurting on the ice. :(
From what I read from various sources, he'll be out 8-10 weeks. ;__; Please keep Bert in your prayers and wish him a speedy recovery.
A couple of screen caps from the fight between Gallant (SD) and Spencer (WC).
Later that night
puckplayer42 and I went to Universal City Walk to walk around and do some shopping. Later that night we met up w/
jonniehardcore and
xxshannonxx at a bowling alley in Sherman Oaks. We didn't get a chance to play, but we had fun chatting w/ both of them as well as meeting their other friends including the birthday girl, Haley. We ended the night by having dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.
Saturday: Didn't do much except have my nails done since I was going to a Wedding Party (well more so of a Wedding Anniversary party) of one of my mom's co-worker's parents. I also witnessed Corvs scoring the game winning goal against the Blackhawks in OT. Thank goodness the 7-game losing streak ended.
Later that night we went to Pomona for the wedding party. It was alright, but I didn't really know anyone there. Since they had an open bar, I took advantage of it by getting 3 drinks. The food was great through. Overall, it was so cute seeing an old couple (ages 85-groom and 79-bride) renew their vows and everything since it was their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Sunday: I slept quite a bit. I thought the Kings were gonna lose the game, so I fell asleep during the 3rd period to later found out they won the game. I did work on some of my final project.
Monday: Worked on finals and nap...
VDay/SAD: I had classes during the day, but I spent most of my afternoons getting my nails redone and having my hair done before the big dinner date. At around 7 (ish),
puckplayer42 surprised me w/ a bouquet of roses and a gigantic teddy bear. I knew I was gonna get those roses, but I wasn't expecting the teddy bear. Anyways, we left my house and drove down Hollywood before heading over to Asia De Cuba in the Hotel Mondrian. We got seated early, but we had to wait a while since there were so many people being served. Our server gave me a rose and throughout the whole night he kept calling me "Baby". He was quite a character. Until I had my food and eventually my chocolate martini, I was pretty much speechless and in awe since it was a very exotic place. I love the abmience as well as the food. Yum! No wonder why Cammy luvs this place! It was sooooo worth the wait and even the mistakes the servers made since they gave us another salad. Overall, he had a 6 course meal including 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and a very yummy dessert. Our server gave us melon shots since one of our entrees were running late. He also gave us each a small golden box of heart shaped chocolates. I even got more that what I bargained because the couple who was sitting next to us at another table left their packed up leftovers, so I ended up taking it.
After dinner, we walked around the patio area where they had some type of bedlike lounge where you can lay back and relax while you have your drink. It was so beautiful beyond words and very romantic as well.
The only drawbacks were one... since I was seated right next to the glass door that lead to the patio, I'd freeze up and shiver each time they'd leave the door open. Also, as soon as another couple went seated next to the table next to us, the guy was being a jackass. We waited patiently for our food no matter how long it took. Well, that couple got their food served faster than us, but the guy would complain to his date as well as everyone else that they had to wait too long. Not only that, but he kept putting the blame on the girl, assuming that she planned the dinner date, and by the time they had their main entree, they both left. To top it all, he was such a loudmouth. What a dick! Had it been me, I'd be crying my eyes off, deeply mortified and offended. I felt so bad for the girl for having to put up with that whiny jackass.
As for any Kings hockey players spotting, we didn't see any players, but one of the host looked so much like George Parros. Hopefully next time.
Overall, we had a total blast!

In the ladies restroom, they had some thing where you can write a message in chalk. I wrote "Je T'Aime Luc B." cuz I'm a dorkward plus the chocolate martini kicked in...
A blue lit swimming pool. It was hard to see since it was dark.

The Gigantic Teddy Bear-I Decided to name him Luc Bourdon (aka Baby Bert)
Wednesday: Classes, finish up w/ the final project, watch some of the Team USA (aka Team Conroy)/Latvia(sp?) game.
Yesterday: Had my final presentation. I can't believe I survived Art 15!!! Last year I dropped out of the class thinking I would never ever take that class again because I hated it so much! Now I survived that class liking it a lot and learning so much within 6 weeks. Afterwards, I treated myself to some food at the Canadian Cafe.
Today: I mostly relaxed, watched some of the women's hockey game (Canada vs. Finland) play. I was happy that Team Canada won. Although I haven't been keeping track of the women's game that much, I was shocked that Team Sweden beat Team USA in a shoot out. In fact, I felt crushed when Team USA lost. Hopefully they'll win the bronze.
I also got to watch some of the Wildcats/Mooseheads game...
Early this morning, when I stumbled onto this pic below...
I thought at first JC Sawyer was Bert b/c of the hair and scruffiness. Is it me or does JC kinda look like Bert in that particular pic? Is it even wrong to think that JC Sawyer is attractive? Just wondering!
And I'm so spent!
Tomorrow I'll be going to Hooters for the Kings' hockey watch (Team Conroy vs. Team Slovakian Sweethearts) during the day and later that night we'll be going to Pomona to see Action Reaction, Chiodos, Boys Night Out, and Armor For Sleep. I can't hardly wait since it's been a while since I last went to a show.
Aight, have a wonderful night! :D :D :D
Edit: I forgot to mention how Charlene Labonte kicked ass for Team Canada. A sweet shutout against Team Finland. She's one of my favorite female hockey players. I still remember her during the Titans days. I still can't believe she played in the Q many years ago. She's truly amazing...
Now please comment or else I'll have my Kings tough guys go after you and whoop your ass...
