Party Crashers: The Long Awaited Weekend Entry

Feb 09, 2006 11:05

Somehow my body hasn't been functioning well. I've been sleeping a lot that it's not even funny. It's really sad. So I finally got around to updating since I'm at home instead of class... I'll explain later why I'm not in class today.

Anyhow...

Saturday: It was my weekend trip with casia and puckplayer42. Our first stop was Staples Center. We were about to get tix to the Kings/Stars game, but I wasn't in the mood for going to that game plus we both had this feeling the Kings would lose this game. So instead we went to the Team LA store were I finally got the last edition to my L.A. Kings' stuffed animal family (there's also a cream and brown colored monkeys, just like Petit Cammy-but I don't want anymore stuffed animals plus I dunno who to name them at this point). His name is Conroy (aka Baby Con) and he's a fuzzy violet teddy bear. Since his limbs are so loose, he'd keep smacking and headbutting Chubby Dustin the rest of the trip (I also brought Chubby Dustin just if case we were able to get into the Kings' Party for season ticket holders).

Anyhow, from there we drove to the Toyota Sports Center where we were hoping we'd get more info. from the party, but nobody knew. At least it wasn't a waste of a trip b/c I needed to get something to drink since I was thirsty, since there was no Kings practice-the black curtain barrier thingie was opened and I had my pic taken close to the Kings' lockerroom, and we tried out hockey sticks at the Team L.A. store.

Originally, we weren't planning to go to the Kings' Season Ticket Holder Party at the Home Depot Center, but last minute we decided to try and see if we can get in... So we ended up parking close to where the players' parked and walked all around to the entrance in hopes of getting tix let alone getting in to meet the players. By the time we got to the entrance, we gave up since they were still checking for tix plus you had to go through a metal detector. We even asked if they were selling tix, and they weren't. So close yet so far... At least it was worth the try. Hopefully next time when we both get Season Tickets (we plan on getting Season tix next season and splitting it). I didn't fret through since I had to admit that I'm getting sick and tired of meeting the players (well except for Sean Avery since I've only met him once and that was in 2003-otherwise all season long I haven't had a chance to meet him). I did however get a great work out by walking all around the Home Depot Center.

We finally got to our original destination which was Manhattan Beach. We had lunch at Sharks Cove, a sports bar where certain Kings players will go to (including Dustin Brown since I have a good ear and overheard him say that he was going there on his 21st birthday a while back). The food was excellent, but my Sex On The Beach drink was a bit too strong. After our late lunch, we walked around and did some shopping, and went to the pier during sunset. Despite being friggin cold, Manhattan Beach is beautiful, and unlike beaches like lets say Huntington Beach and Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach is not overly crowded. Then again it's still winter time, and it was getting late.

On our way home we stopped by the Howard Hughes Prommenade where we did a little bit more shopping.

This is as close I'll get to the Kings' lockerroom. Hehe...

So close, yet so far... @ The Season Ticket Holders Meet The Players Party

A pic of Sidney Crosby near the restrooms. I was so tempted to take it down, take it home, and even perhaps pass it around to my fella Sidney Crosby fans, and have them pass it around, just like those special jeans from the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

Highlight from the trip: Singing along to Simple Plan songs. Although I don't listen to them as much as I used to, I'm still amazed that I still know and remember the words to No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls album. If they ever come back to Cali, we plan on seeing them, and hopefully I can get some of my fella old school, really cool SPICers to go so that I (more so of we) don't feel out of place...

Sunday: Skipped the Super Bowl since I'm not a football fan. A big congrads to the Steelers for winning though. Go Steelers! I also went to the mall w/ my mom and did some more shopping.

Monday: Classes, sleep, attempting to watch some hockey games w/o falling asleep.

Tuesday: Same as Monday except the Kings lost 5-1 (loss #6 in a row).

Yesterday: We got out of class early since my instructor wasn't feeling well. Otherwise, it was still the same except the Kings choked in the 3rd period and lost 7-4 (loss #7 in a row).

Then at around midnight(ish), I heard my phone ringing, but I ignored it. When I got a voice message, it was from Al-my instructor telling not to go to class. Therefore classes got cancelled today and I was able to sleep in. Now I'm starting to feel sick. My throat is already scratchy. I still have a final project to work on plus chores and stuff to do. I also have to check and see if there any more job postings worth checking out and even submitting my resume to. Otherwise, I'm gonna attempt my 4th day having smoothies as part of my meal (Monday I had Jamba Juice for breakfast, Tuesday & yesterday I had Robeks Juice for lunch). I'm a smoothies addict.

Tomorrow I plan on spending the day w/ girlasleep and later that night puckplayer42 and I plan on meeting up w/ jonniehardcore for some bowling, if it's still on. jonniehardcore: Sorry if it had taken me a gazillion years to get back to you, but I got your comment a few entries back, and we're still in for the bowling party or whatever you're planning to have. Please let me know if it's still going on or not. Anyways, cya tomorrow! ^__^

Then Saturday I have a dentist appointment plus later that night I'll be going to my mom's co-worker's parents' wedding anniversary.

Well, that's all I have to report. Till then have a wonderful day.
