I think that the cast is relatively small enough for me to do this from memory, and without a cut...
Melissa & Tony: I broke my pattern of basically all season and I threw M&T one vote tonight (the rest went to K&V, of course). They really *do* deserve to be in the finals, and I am really rooting for them. Their Argentine Tango was *perfect*, and I really *hate* AT's being done to non-traditional music (I wish all the dances were done to traditional music, but especially those).
Derek & Shawn: Okay, between last week and today, I watched probably fifty bhangra videos on youtube (and realized I have done it before, just didn't know what it was called), and also youtubed the Knight Rider theme song...What the fuck was that? Why do they continually get an EZ pass in everything they fucking do? I'm not going to pretend like she's not the best dancer overall, because she is, but W. T. F.
Apolo & Karina: I realize I'm pretty hard on them anyway, but honestly, I know that they got a perfect score tonight and I can't remember a single thing that they did.
Cheryl & Emmitt: Should have been off the show weeks ago. And it shows. And I feel *horrible* for my girl, she looks so discouraged.
Kelly & Val (MY BABIES): Oh. My. GAWD. Okay, here's something I've said a gajillion times before, and I'll say it again, but I *really* wish they'd explain a bit more about the dances, especially these specialty dances. Because their 'surfer' flamenco looked pretty good to me, a person who knows next to nothing about dance. I will say that it looked very much like a paso, but to be honest, pretty much all of the flamencos that I youtubed this week (you all know I do research, come on) looked like pasos with very expressive hand and wrist movements. VAL'S BULGE. And he apologized for the cold room. I'm sorry, I'm far too immature to elaborate further. I thought their rumba was fantastic. Val is very traditional with his choreography, and he's not big into the tricks, but Kelly was pretty much perfect, and I don't know why she couldn't have gotten one 10.
Well, I gave them 4 votes, and I hope that was enough, and I hope Kelly's army was out in effect. I'm going to be biting my nails all day tomorrow.
*One tiny thing I've noticed all season, but it really hit home tonight, was that Len is really being kind of a patsy in his judging, but Carrie Ann is being a stone-cold auditing bitch with her critiques.
**Okay, one more thing. I know, I KNOW, I'm a delusional fangirl. But...maybe Kelly and Heath are just friends now? I'm sorry. I don't know what guy would really stand for this kind of behavior. Val is obviously in love with her, and she loves him and is attracted to him, at the very least.
Going to go finish out the first season of OTH...see you on the other side...
