Getting ready to leave for the airport, and I can't wait to catch up on tv tonight! (I've seen Blair/Jack fics floating around, so I'm DYING to see the Gossip Girl finale...)

A few things...

Oh, just in general. I can't wait for Hope and Ryder!

Oh, I owe you an email with my 'wild high school stories' (j/k)...

Hope and Ryder are going to be my favorites, for sure, ha.

I really did enjoy this book. I am a sucker for lifelong friends falling in love and I was curious to see how NR would fit them together. I liked seeing how Owen made the switch from Avery the friend to Avery the lover. Plus the inn is done! So exploring the nuances and stuff.

I did chuckle over Avery's dad and the brothers' mom being involved and the brothers discomfort level, lol.

Avery's mom sucks.

I so cannot wait for that email!

Yeah Avery's mom was pretty awful- and the whole part with her seemed very stuck in. I thought that Avery's (understandable) issues were going to be a major roadblock, but they moved past it very smoothly.

Excellent! What did you think? I really enjoyed it, and I wanted to ask...I was kind of surprised that there is kind of no conflict with the couples in this series. I mean, it's just, this is the progress of a relationship. Would you say this is her norm?

I would, yeah. I mean, there are obstacles in a lot of them (especially her standalones, which are more romantic suspense-like), but they're more likely than not to be character-centric. Which is what I like about them.

And I really liked this one! I wish there had been a teensy bit more relationship focus and less hotel porn, but this was more or less the story I wanted for them and I loved the Ryder/Hope teases.

I did too, don't get me wrong. Still, I'm excited to see Hope and Ryder and two people who are just getting to know one another, rather than having been friends for years .

And agreed- while I really loved NR's eye for interior decor, there could have been fewer scenes of them cleaning and hanging mirrors.

I still need to buy the book - contemplated buying it today when I was at Target but held off because I have a gift card to B&N. I've read really mixed reviews on Amazon - is it a good read?

It was! Did you read the first book in the series (The Next Always)? They are *very* similar. I'm most excited about the next/last book, which comes out in November.

I have read the first book which is why I've been wanting to read the 2nd one :) I'm really excited for the third one but the reviews on the 2nd have been offputting yet I do want to read it lol.

Ah, I generally don't go by official book reviews, and I don't think I'd be able to keep myself from *not* reading the middle book of a series.
