Who Ever Knew We Could Want More Than That Out Of Life

I need a post for today, so why don't I try and finish up the final round of that question meme that earnmysong gave me?

DON'T START. Well, they're a dying breed anyway, probably all on their last legs, but…From what I hear, The Young And The Restless is quite good, but I can't say anything about it, because I've never watched. I'm assuming you think I'd say General Hospital, because that show owns a piece of my soul, but it has RUINED me. Seriously, me and GH is the fandom equivalent of Ronnie and Sammi (from Jersey Shore).

Oh my gosh, like, the whole thing. Seriously, if you guys haven't seen it, watch it, it's SUCH a good movie, and so much more than a sports movie or a fighting movie. But right from the beginning, when Nick Nolte's character Paddy gets in his car and puts in a cassette tape of Moby Dick (the detail of the cassette player just kills me for some reason) there is a lump in my throat that gets a little bit harder to ignore and by the end, when this song is playing over the Fistfight Of Brotherly Love To End ALL Fistfights Of Brotherly Love, and you realize *how* they got to this point, from opposite ends of the country, to being the two best fighters in the world. Because Tommy (Tom Hardy) had to scrape and fight and beat the shit out of anything that ever got in his path just to survive and Brendan (Joel Edgerton) had spent eighteen years with Paddy Conlon, never getting a tap-out, no escape from that house, from those fists and threats, and just had to endure. And there was nothing he could not endure. It was literally the story of an Unstoppable Force (Brendan) meeting an Immovable Object (Tommy).

I…have been to New York twice and really never quite fell in love with it. I guess the one thing I have to say, the first time I was there, I was, mmmm…22 and I bought this huge, gorgeous gold cuff bracelet at a Turkish street fair and it is by far my favorite piece of jewelry I've ever owned.

Yes, I do think they will get back together. I think they are one of Shonda's pet endgame couples, it's just taking some time to get there, and I appreciate the time. So far, I think it's on the right track. Mark was Lexie's first, intense love as an adult, and it was a year after she lost her mother and it all got so serious, so fast, and she needed time. She's getting there, and realizing that she still loves him…He's never stopped loving her. I'm totally buying it as is. (Does that make me a Pollyanna?

Um no, sorry? I do remember the title, but nothing else about it. How old are you?

Gosh, HARD. You know, I'm kind of weird? When I'm feeling sad, I don't reach for a comedy, I go for something that's going to really get me going (crying-wise). But a guaranteed happy-maker? Probably a Disney movie. My favorite:

So, that's that. If anyone wants any more questions, just ask, you know I like to keep this thing going.

Tonight, I'm going out for sushi (appropriate) and tomorrow, I'm going to the parade in Southie, and acting like I'm 19.
