Tell Me This Is Paradise And Not Some Place I Fell

Mar 02, 2012 18:03

I swear guys, one day, I'm going to come up with something on my own to post about.

Today is not that day.

Back with another round of 7 Topics (if you want some topics of your own, let me know), this time from mammothluv:

I think the better question is, is there NOT a tv show or book that I wouldn't change something on? And the answer is, there's not. Even things I massively love, I've always got a little fanfic tag-on in my head. But to single one out, what to choose, what to choose…

I'll go with the thing I met mammothluv on, Izzie Stevens from Grey's Anatomy. We all knew in the end of season 5 that either Katherine Heigl or TR Knight would die in the season finale, we just didn't know who it would be. At the time, I was tearing my hair out that it was going to be Izzie. Not that I wanted George to die (particularly the way he did), but we had just gotten Izzie and Alex happy and married and we couldn't lose that!!!

On the other hand, everyone would have been in character. If Katie Heigl got to leave the show that way, we wouldn't have had the s6 about-face (that made NO sense for her character) and if TR still wanted to leave the show, they could have written George into the army, like he planned.

As it is, I am always holding my breath around Alex, waiting for Izzie to come back. I'm the worst kind of shipper when it comes to those two, I won't accept anyone else for endgame!!!

But 'endgame' is a loose concept with me…

Round trip! Now we're talking!

I mean, kind of part of me wants to give a really out there answer like ancient Rome (particularly since I'm so into Spartacus lately), but seriously, I'd be scared out of my mind.

Maybe Paris in the 1920's? That had to be pretty cheerful and happy, right?

Confession…I still haven't watched the last bit of All My Children. I'm saving it for…I'm not sure what.

But what I think I want for them is to just be happy. Well, I know I want that. I want them to live close to each other, and I want their kids to always be running in and out of each other's pockets.

Is Fusion still a thing? I'd like for them to still be running it, maybe they're not a huge brand, but they're excellent quality and they're happy. Yes, happy. That's the important thing.

This is…turning into its own, HUGE post. Look for it tomorrow!

Many. Many, many, many. Because as awesome as she was, she did a whole lot more than Saving The World, One Misunderstood Kid At A Time. (Oh, just *that*, lol?) I wish there were more FNL clips on yt, but alas…Okay, Top 5.

Favorite Tami Saving The World Moment: When she got home from the school assembly in Blinders (1x16), and sort of crumpled into the couch, because she simply CARES TOO MUCH ABOUT ALL THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD.

Favorite Tami/Eric Moment: When they drove to the spot of their first ‘date’ in The Lights of Carroll Park (which was, creepily enough, also the spot of the first ‘date’ of her daughter and future son-in-law), and melted into each other, all, “Damn, I love you…”

Favorite Tami/Julie/Gracie Moment: The end of Kingdom (5x05) when Tami and Gracie are being lazy around the breakfast table, waiting for Eric to come home, and Julie walks in the door, and the both pop up all excited, hugging each other.

Favorite Goofy Tami Moment: When she was chaperoning the dance in It Ain’t Easy Being JD McCoy (3x06), and dancing around by herself to a slow dance, clapping her hands.

Favorite Tami Moment That Made Me Want To Put Her In My Lap Forever And Just Brush Her Hair And Tell Her It Will Be Okay: When she found out she was pregnant in State (1x22), and she looked so scared and happy all at the same time, and just kind of rambling to Corinna. “We planned this thirteen years ago, and then eleven, and then ten, and then we figured…We have our beautiful girl, and that’s what we have, and another one wasn’t in God’s plans…”

This is off what you asked me last night, and I have had this pet crossover idea of the second generation kids from FNL (Becky, Jess, Luke, Vince and Hastings because I’ll need 5 and he’s pretty) as interns at Seattle Grace, and Tyra would be their ‘Bailey’. But this is an idea for an alternate universe, where they do not all come from Dillon, so I don’t know if that’s quite the same thing.

For a while, for some reason, I thought that Jessalyn Gilsig played Dan and Jenny’s mother on Gossip Girl, so I had a whole canon in my head that she was Shelley’s twin sister, and Dan and Jenny were Julie and Gracie’s cousin, and had quite a few neat crossover ideas for that…Actually, 'neat' wasn't the operative word, the idea came, like, what if Eric passed away (!) and Tami decided to go live with her sister and get a fresh start and…like, nobody wants to read that? It hurts my heart to even think about it

ALL OF THEM. What age? I was a pretty voracious reader from like, 7 to 13, and probably read, like, a book a day. Lots of the Baby-Sitters’ Club and Sweet Valley Twins (I always found the books of them in middle school far more interesting than the high school ones). Little Women was a big one, and The Primrose Way and there was this book I loved called…I think it was The Doll In The Garden? It was a ghost story about a little girl who made friends with a Victorian little girl-ghost who lived in her garden.

Yup, you're all going to get sick of me this month! Day 2!
