Matt Saracen is one of my favorite tv characters ever. Period. I agree...how can you not love him?

Eek, Brooke is my favourite character on OTH - I really love how she evolved over the course of the show, especially considering that when OTH first began, she was 'the slut' (though Nathan, imo, was sluttier by far), the trouble-maker, or simply comic relief.

And Matt... oh, God, Matt... I think he, more than any other character, is what sucked me in to FNL. His struggle to become QB1, to become a leader, to overcome his guilt, to be the player he could be, to cope with what's going on at home with his grandma and his father, his sweetly new relationship with Julie, with the boys on the team... Oh, Matt, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways... ♥ ♥ ♥

Seriously, Matt is the entire story of FNL, kind of the metaphor for the Panthers in s1 (and the Lions in 4 and 5), this quiet kid, nobody really expected much of him and he just became this hero.

I'm so glad we keep finding more fandoms in common! Who is that in your icon?

The icon is Brooke and Peyton (my OTH OTP), as I no longer have any FNL icons. Aww. (as an aside: I didn't really get why Brooke and Julian named the baby 'Jude', either. I gather that Davis was the first-born, given the name, but Jude... it could be a nickname for Julian, or perhaps they let Peyton name him?)

And I can't help but giggle at the way Davis and Sawyer are going to whine about their names when they're 13.

I wish they hadn't said what they did about Peyton this season. It threw everything about the first six years of the show out the window.

Ahhhhhhhhhh Matt Saracennnnnnnnnnnnnn!!! I'm grinning like a fool, as soon as I saw his face. What a total and complete perfect sweetheart.

I go back and forth on Brooke all the time. The first time I watched the series, I hated her. Then, I rewatched and loved her. Since I've rewatched again (but haven't actually seen new episodes in a year or more), I do like her again.

Ooh, what did you hate about Brooke at first? (Just curious.)

And yes, Matt is PERFECT.

I was and am just staunchly Team Peyton, and I always thought that Brooke was just getting in their way, lol. Once she lied to Lucas about being pregnant, I thought she was kind of gross and mean; once it was revealed she'd slept with Nathan but had still been pissed at Peyton for sleeping with Lucas, I thought she was a hypocrite, and that Peyton was right for saying Brooke was never honest.

Once I rewatched it (it seems like all the channels here have aired it at least once, so I can always rewatch it from the start), I got her a bit more, I understood her.
