Randomosity, because I don't like going so many days without an entry:
~I don't care what anyone says, I loved the
Elizabeth/Lucky scenes today. JJ and BH can rock the drama, that's for sure.
~I also loved the Dreaming With A Broken Heart montage, particularly Hot Johnny. (He's legally changed his name, didn't you know?)
~Gifs are coming!
Gifs are coming!~Trying to post about True Blood is requiring way more thought than any show about naked vampires should.
~Pretty Little LIars is best in big batches. As I watch in real time, I find myself yelling at the tv, "Get on with it!"
~Speaking of yelling at inanimate objects, I'm constantly yelling at my notebook, "You are NOT writing an Ethan/Johnny slashfic!" lately as I try to work through Into The Mystic.
~Speaking of writing, I totally FORGOT about
femgenficathon. FARK.
Okay, here's a little substance. I don't get the Best Friends thing.
Too broad?
Okay, I know it's a big trope, the Best Friends Who Fall In Love (Hermione/Ron, Anne/Gilbert, Chandler/Monica, just to name a few). And those couples certainly have their merits, as do many others. But...it's not something that is a dead sure that I will fall for. Bad Boy/Good Girl, or Princess/Stable Boy (heiress/conman, etc.) those are things I fall for without fail, but I notice that Best Friends is kind of the popular one around my corners of fandom.
Like...maybe I've had too many friends who are boys? I feel like spending the bulk of my growing up years getting beat up by boys has done way more to shape the person I've become than anyone ever thought it would (disclaimer for those who don't know: I was on the boys' wrestling team in high school). My 25-year-old brother, also a wrestler, who is working on his second master's degree, thinks nothing of walking into the house, scooping me up into a
fireman's carry and tossing me down. It's not in a mean way, and I think nothing of it, either. (Fun fact? I was what is categorized as a 'fish', in that I always allowed myself to get thrown down in matches, because I worked better from the ground, more Greco-style wrestling. Not so fun fact? I still got my ass beat more times than not.)
Anyway, tangent aside, I just never got the overwhelming LOVE for Best Friends. It works for me on a case-by-case basis, I guess. *shrugs*
I had something else... :/
