Well, empressearwig probably has a lot to do with it. I first started getting super obsessed with Taylor probably in summer 2009 (the song That's The Way I Loved You was probably my tipping point, for whatever reason). And at the time, before anything was really official, I was shipping Taylor with Tay Lautner. *shrug* And while they're both very pretty, I started to realize that they really looked like brother/sister-pally types. Plus their age difference- 2 years isn't so much at 29 and 27, but at 19 and 17 it seems like a whole heckuva lot.
So, then, for no reason whatsoever, I decided I wanted to ship her with Dierks Bentley, and I wanted them to do a duet together. I think they were both on tour with Kenny Chesney at one point or something, and then I realized...he's married. So no. I would still like for them to do a duet though.
THEN! empressearwig pointed me at her twitter, and that she and John would be recording together for his new album, and like, her whole page was them going back and forth at each other (tweet-fucking, basically...you know that's what it was). And it all just made so much SENSE. I went on a tear looking for stuff and found the youtube videos of them performing at the Staples Center, and well...you know the rest is history. I kept nudging for empressearwig to write them in fic (was a fraidy cat to do it myself) and then she did, and then kept squeeing and losing my mind any time they had a small scene in her Big Bang, and well...you know the rest is history.

2 fics....I would like to will this Lexie Grey idea I've got that I know isn't quite right into existence. It's right there, right at the tips of my fingertips, but....it basically encapsulates her whole life.
And an epic Beau/Chiles (Country Strong) fic of what happened to them after the movie.
