Oh, SO sad! ...The ending, I mean. The rest of it made me really happy. My only quibble is that you switched from past to present tense halfway through. I especially enjoyed the small details, like Duncan and Lilly's saying at night, and the color of Duncan's beard. I wish they could stay together forever. Maybe she'll quit the FBI ;). Thanks so much for posting this!

I sort of did that on purpose? (The tense thing.) It was supposed to be recapping the events of the day, to catching up to them at night time, holding hands (baring souls...I'm so cheesy.)

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! These two- they really are in running for my angstiest of OTP's (and they have some serious competition). Like seriously, I imagine these little interludes between them every five, ten years, and...guh. They're so great.

I suspected that was what you were doing with the tenses, I just wasn't 100% sure :). Love the holding hands bit lol. They're definitely angsty OTP...so sad and great.

I rarely read V/D, but this is really good. And so sad, but real life love stories don't always have fairy tale endings...so this is beautiful and real and angsty and lovely.

I love this line, "His voice was different too, deeper and colored by different accents from his travels." This is so, so true. (My best friend and I left the US after college - I came back after year and a half, but, 15 years later, she's still living in Asia. Her voice is very, very different now - it's what happens when no one else around you speaks your native language like a native. So, this was a nice, realistic touch.)

Please write more Veronica/Duncan fics!!! My fav pairing and I ve read all fanfics of them on fanfiction.net. Thissums up the way they feel for each othe perfectly. Please write a multiple chapter DuVe fic!!! And does anyone know of more DuVe fanfic out there that's not on fanfiction.net or before I started reading fics which is just been a year? Thanks for the great read.

How did I miss this post? I love this...it's pretty much everything I wanted for Veronica and Duncan after the series. You fix my heart, and then break it to pieces all over again. Lovely!
