Last week was fun and eventful, what with orientation and job news and the like. Dan returned from LA and Laura and I made him a pina colada cake (layers of coconut and pineapple cake with coconut meringue frosting). Lots of laughs. We need a new hand mixer and I need new hands. :)

I had a nice weekend. Friday was frustrating, I got a call from the school that some of my paperwork was missing and as a result, bureaucracy being what it is, I have to wait till it's straightened out before I can go to school for meetings and prep work. Laura was frustrated as well, because of a minor flub on some papers of hers, so we blew bubbles and threw a balloon around. After that we put blankets and pillows on the floor and listened to the White Album until Dan came home. We all sat watching the visualizer on the plasma until we were hungry, and we got dressed and went out for sushi. We went to a new place around the corner and feasted. It was so much fun and so delicious. I can't wait to go back with them. :) We stopped in the store on the way back home and Dan made us laugh and laugh and laugh as he always does.

Saturday was fine, but Saturday night was great. I went out to the store and picked some things up, then came back and had popcorn and honey lemon iced tea (which I made) and we watched Burn After Reading. Halfway through we took an intermission and I made hot tea and desserts - mini s'mores pies. They were scrumptious. I think we all enjoyed the movie too, it was funny and interesting and extra fun for Laura and I (for Pitt and Clooney, respectively).

They headed to Miami yesterday and I went to Millenia with Misty and we ran into Olivier. We had lunch at Brio and then Misty and I walked around until it was time for her SAK class, then I went to Ikea to pick up a few little things for the kitchen and a lamp for my bedroom.

Tomorrow I'm heading to the school to see if I can sneak a peak at the room and meet some coworkers. I'm very excited. I have a pile of stuff I've gathered over the years that should go nicely: postcards, posters, pretty post-its, and lots of books. I can't wait!
