crazy.
i rang in the new year in venice, italy.
even crazier.
and also, to recap on the things i apparently left you hanging with (i.e. lisa glenn and abbott jones nagging about the house pics) i'll post pictures later, but it's mostly done...the guy came to fix the broken window above the front door and when he put it in he broke it into a million pieces, sooooooo now we wait another two weeks or so for another one. blah.
the inside is getting a spruce too though, the dining room has a fresh coat of paint...the parents picked a brown color which is ok, i just like bold colors for dining rooms...the den has also gotten a spruce, but it's still the same beige color which flows nicely into our newly painted blue kitchen...all in all, it's coming along and starting to look like our house again.
i think my dad is glad to be finishing the painting...he's over it...so am i.
now, let's talk about italy...about october, melissa (my fab co-worker) and i decided we should take a trip somewhere seeing as we had 10 days off work for the holidays and we both absolutely love to travel...then ashley decided she would go with us too! yay fun trip!
of course, three days before we leave ashley realizes she has lost her passport and ends up not going...sad day...super sad day...
so melissa and i make our way to italy...landing in venice and setting up "home-base" at hotel dalla mora...soooo quaint with a room over-looking a canal...looooooooove venice and all it's beautiful canals, bridges, tiny shops and streets...sooo precious...we also took a daytrip to milan and a daytrip to florence...florence is my fav of those two and probably one of my top cities in the world...we really enjoyed florence...although i absolutely love venice too :o)
i cannot even put into words the excitement of this trip...i think you all know my love for traveling and this was perfect...we only had a few days, but it was just what i needed...i mean, i would love to have had more time but i thoroughly enjoyed this little adventure.
the whole time we were there, i just kept thinking wow, i'm in italy...and i got another stamp in my passport and i gotta say, twas a great feeling! melissa and i were very excited!
of course, the trip had a few hiccups, mainly the fact that we had no luggage when we arrived in venice and almost missed our flight home on january 1st b/c our alarm didn't go off, but it's ok, we made it...safe and sound :o)
and as far as travel buddies go...melissa is the best! we just went with the flow, which i love and had a blast...thanks melissa, you're superior!
we saw so many cool buildings, historical things, great views, met some cool peeps and rang in 2008 in piazza san marco with some brazilians...hah! all in all, it was a great way to end 2007 and start 2008...great things are to come this year...i have high hopes!
now, back to the real world and back to work...with a nasty cough and no voice...boo.
anyways, happy new year to all! loves!
