how to customise a background

You have to be on S2 style to do this. S1 is more complicated and you have to make every part of your journal sepratl. S2 makes a theme for the journal and aall the overrides and colors and thigns go to everything so its a lot easier to use S2. S2 is also more cutomizable in this regard. So, you be able to choose a background and picture and whathave you, you need to select S2. S1 does have themes but its not as varied (or as fun) as S2.

Your journal's user info will look like this:

http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=lenorebutterfly (only with your name on it)

This happens to me anyway, so it might be this way for you also. When you click the OVERRIDE DEFAULT button, it wont make a list right away so save it. LJ will take you back to the CUSTOMIZE JOURNAL page, but it will save that you clicked the override button. Go to the EDIT CUSTOMIZATIONS again and then to the BACKGROUND page again and it will have a list under the override button and you can then choose which you want. Then save.

Always check your journal at each step because if you mess it up, you dont want to have to start over, not knowing what went wrong.

Modify :

-> Customize Journal

->Edit Customizations

->Background

->Background Image Scrolling

-> √ Override Default
..............Fixed
