Work. Work. Work.

My research project is going great! I'm so excited about it. Prof. Cassady is talking about getting my paper (once I write it) published in a journal, which would be the ultimate. My preliminary DSSI presetnation went really well too--lots of questions from the audience (which means they were listening) and a few compliments from strangers XD. This week we're supposed to get in touch with people from the EPA, so that should be cool. Perhaps working for a faceless government bureaucracy is in my future!

Work at the Harding Land Trust is a little less exciting. Got a pretty bad case of poison ivy from doing some truly IDIOTIC field work. With all my allergies, I think maybe working outside may be an incorrect career choice. But the good news is I never do the same thing twice at work, so if I hate it, I know it'll change the next week. Right now we're painting my new office. (Technically not exclusively my office, but it makes me feel important to call it mine.) I'm doing a real good job of delegating assignments I don't like to Tom, the other intern. He's going to be a freshman at Drew in the fall, so I kind of feel like a mama bird, but also like I kind of hate him. He has been dealt the unfortunate destiny of looking like Ron Weasley, but without any of the fun, charisma, or...normalcy.
