Not sure this will let me post because I'm at work and usually I get bumped because of security/firewall issues. Curious. Cold and sunny outside. Students left over an hour ago but I have a meeting in an hour so I'm here. Looking at boxes and piles and the fake Christmas tree by my desk that needs other things moved to give it a home for the next eleven months. I looked in a box but didn't know where to put the first thing on top so I walked away.
I managed to send the two queries in my car but no new queries organized, no pages of Dirt edited in the past week.
Instead, collages by my students grace the walls with titles like "A Castle", "Mountains", "Coffee", and "A Game Called Fate". The game called fate has that endearing wise-child charm so I tell Mom and she says that Dad and Sister have been playing a video game called Fate. All about context :)
I should have brought my book to read. I'm in trouble with my book. It's from the library, an adult fantasy that looked a little creepy which I like, except now it's gotten really creepy/violent and it has disturbing images to illustrate the depravity of some of the cultures and characters in the world. But I'm too deep into the story just to shut the book for good. Trapped. And it's the first in a series, so I know it won't end well.
Every story teaches so I learn even as I cringe. Some places I just don't want to go, even in my imagination.
