face of Socrates
I wonder why the wisest philosopher of all times, Socrates, is perhaps the ugliest one as well? Reading "The Masks of Socrates" by Zanker, Socrates was famous for ugliness... Is there any significance in this fact? Another reminder that true beauty is concealed and has to be discovered beyond the surface?
