Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership

TTIP -- as the driving factor behind current geopolitical drama. What will remain is minimum safety and environmental standards. If course, the capacity of Europe to regulate its own markets will be also reduced. I wonder what European environmentalists think of this TTIP -- I am sure they are not happy. Current European environmental standards, including on food, are stronger than those adopted in the US - and this will have to be corrected under the new agreement in favour of low standards and bigger corporate incomes. But who cares? We live in the era of global corporations and their mega-profits. Nothing else really matters in this brave new world.

Some Europeans (including environmentalists and the Greens) resist this new economic agreement pushed from the very top of the EU leadership onto member-states.
