about books, geekiness and the Doctor.

So today I got to know the famous Captain Jack Harkness everyone is talking about(why are Jacks always Captains?)and learned that he has a pretty military jacket.

There is only one episode of Season 1 left that I haven't seen and I'm scared of watching it. Because I love Christopher Eccleston and after that episode I won't be able to see his mad Doctor grin anymore. Woe is me.

In other news, I spent 3 or 4 hours on Saturday afternoon in the bookstore reading a 200-page book for teenagers which I really liked but lacked the money to buy. It's been some time since I last consumed a book like this, pausing only to go to the toilet and get something to eat so I wouldn't collapse on the bookstore floor. Having finished the book I left the shop and I felt the sun was not only shining outside but also from inside my head, and I danced (kind of) all the way home, singing Omnia's Alive (which you can download legally and for free at their homepage!!) ;-)
In short: I remembered the reason I loved reading novels so much before I somehow unintentionally gave it up in favor of fanfics on the internet and stuff I had to read for university.
So. I bought two more novels and read 300 pages of the first one on Sunday (that's much for me as I'm a slow reader.) I had a wonderful weekend.

Today I went outside again to meet people apart from those talking in my head and I realised that non-geeky people confuse me. Don't they have a hobby? What excites them? What do they talk about? All my good friends have a geeky side, meaning they often get enthusiastic about certain things. I miss this trait in so-called normal people.

Tokoro de (what would I do without that phrase?)
two people on my friendslist recently started talking about Yuletide again, so again I went to the Yuletide page and browsed through the unfilled requests from 2006. So many good ideas, so many stories I, too, would love to read! But naturally I can't participate because as you can see above my English still sucks way too much for me to be capable of writing a fiction in it.

So many things to whine about and still I feel great. :D

PS: I have fallen in love with the TARDIS. Give me 1000 icons with that ship on them, please.
