Smiles
Yesterday, I received a copy of a short story. It is not posted on LJ and as far as I know, it never will be. What struck me most about this short story, little more than a drabble, was the intensity of the action, the near complete IC-ness of the characterisations and the ability of the author to craft a story that ended on a note of real honest to goodness hope. *That* is worth its weight in gold and for that I am eternally grateful.
