We've had some sun, some cloud, some wind. A pretty good day by recent standards. Stayed inside and edited so hard I neglected my coca cola intake.
Yesterday
fluffyllama lent me a pair of fluffy socks to get around the house in. My feet look dead cute in variable-width black and white stripes. (Well, I think so; thousands wouldn't.) Despite the fact that I can wander about in my house barefoot all year (carpeted throughout except bathroom, kitchen and study), I am much tempted to drop into a big Sainsburys/Asda or Big W at home to see what I can find. The few samples in my own fluffy sock collection are all outsize. Pink flippers look pretty silly.
I turned in my
hp_beholder fic, yay! Now I too can read some of the stories people are reccing from the fest.
The cold is getting better, with glacial slowness, but perceptibly. No doubt I won't know what I've had 'til it's gone. My plans of going to a couple of big new exhibitions at the the V&A and the Queen's Gallery (and a litter of small ones at the V&A) when I'm back in London for a couple of days in early May might even come off.
Who doesn't want to see an exhibition devoted to
pubescent Japanese girls dressing up in British-influenced fantasy styles, with a very Japanese twist? "Lolita fashion and the influence of Britain": a cult fashion movement whose defining feature has been its preoccupation with cuteness. Honestly, I hope that will be as much fun as the
big retrospective on British Design (if much much smaller!).
And ooh, not only is
reversathon opening in a few days' time, but the
sshg_exchange mods have announced there will be a 2012 round, with sign-ups a few days later! Stand by for another season of "oh dear I can't write; heaven help me I must write; oh thank god I've written!", I suppose.
