Day 28 - 29 Birmingham (Sunday 15 and Monday 16 April)
Day 28: For a while I was confused and sure this was Saturday. Whatever, another beautiful day, though decidedly chilly out in the garden. My friends had invited the chap who does the gardening to afternoon tea to meet me, because his wife lived in Australia for 25 years. (Not too sure about this "Come and look at the Australian!" thing.) The couple were very pleasant, and we had a nice afternoon tea. The wife had brought chocolate dipped strawberries which, a day later, are still going down very well.
Day 29: Another quiet day. However, I finally won the dongle wars! My broadband wifi dongle (for which I'd had to buy as new SIM in London, grr) had worked perfectly well last time I was here, and I expected it to do so again. It's much more convenient to get onto the internet in my bedroom that to have to go down to the sitting room to use my friend's Ethernet connection, especially as the desk chair kills my back. However, the dongle kept saying, "No network". I was mightily wroth. This afternoon, though, I hit the Run Autorun button, and by god the thing started working. I have no idea why that was necessary. It wasn't in the instructions. Yay me. Grr.
I am getting somewhere with my overdue springtime_gen fic, and hope soon to get back to my even more overdue hp_beholder fic. Wish me luck.
