Pairing: #11 han.ming
one of my personal favourites ♥
basically, i don't believe that gege's decision to leave was made overnight: i'm very certain he's been toying with the idea for a while, and because certain things suddenly took a turn for the worse, he finally hardened his heart and left. gege was never someone who took things rashly, things... might have been bad for a very long time already, which brings about this. it's just my take, so don't take it too seriously.
Sungmin was alone at home today, all alone. Out of boredom, he went back to the company, only to find out that all the practice rooms were being used by the trainees for their upcoming showcase. Not wanting to deprive them of their practice time, and neither wanting to go back to the empty house, Sungmin went up to the rooftop instead. It was usually empty, and this time he was almost certain that it would be too.
Up and up the stairs he climber, and with each flight of steps he went up, he couldn’t help but think more and more about his journey thus far.
His journey from a trainee to now, a member of the boyband Super Junior.
The group’s 4jib was coming out soon.
It would be a significant new peak in his career.
True enough, the rooftop was empty. Sungmin took one lonely spot nearer to the edge, looking at the skyline of Seoul.
This place, it consists of so many memories for him. It was like a special place to him.
When Junsu used to come up here and hide and scream his lungs out, he and Hyuk Jae knew that they could always come up here and seek him out. Then the 3 of them would take turns to cry out loud or scream out loud - and it always made them feel so much better than before.
When Junsu made his debut alone without him and Hyuk Jae, on many occasions, he too could find the 2 best friends alone up here, hugging one another, crying their hearts out. He was always the one who would find them and bring them back.
Ah, the memories.
Sungmin always loved to come up here; it was one of the best place, in his opinion, to reflect. And he knew, it wasn’t just him or Hyuk Jae or Junsu who thought so.
On many occasions, he would find Han Kyung hyung up here alone as well.
“Hyung… you know of this place too?” Sungmin came forward and walked towards the person who beat him to the rooftop.
“Oh Sungmin-ah,” Han Kyung turned around to find his younger member intruding. “Yeah, I’ve long known of this palce, since I first came? Qian and I come here often when things go haywire in our lives,” he said with a sigh.
“Chi Yen-sshi?” Sungmin asked as he took a seat on the ground beside his hyung. “The new Chinese model girl?”
“Yeah, she and Li Yin. They are always here too, don’t you know? Anyway, why are you here too?” Han Kyung turned to look at his dongsaeng. “Escaping from things too?”
“Hyung… why do you seem to know everything?” Sungmin said with a little toothy smile. “Is that why you have so much troubles to escape from?”
Han Kyung did not answer, instead he gave a little smile, as if thinking through a lot of things in his mind. Finally with a sigh, he said after a long, long silence, “sometimes, I rather not know anything. The truth hurts, it really does.”
“Huh?” Sungmin turned to face his hyung who still had a little smile on his face.
“One of these days you’ll understand,” he said while ruffling Sungmin’s hair like a little puppy.
Opening his eyes slowly to come out of the memory deeply rooted in his mind, a little sigh escaped from his lips.
“Hyung, I’ve finally come to understand,” he said to himself in a soft whisper, “I’ve finally understood.
And no matter what, we’ll still be brothers, forever.”
