Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of
Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
5. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This Teaser Tuesday comes from
Jane Austen's Selected Letters. I have been reading it for the past few weeks, and am finding it quite enjoyable: It is a fascinating insight into Jane's life. I do wish, however, that it wasn't taking such a long time to finish, but time for reading has been quite sparse of late.
"I take it for granted that Mary has told you of Anna's engagement to Ben LeFroy. It came upon us without much preparation; - at the same time, there was that about her which kept us in a constant preparation for something. - We are anxious to have it go on well, there being quite as much in his favour as the Chances are likely to give her in any Matrimonial connection."
