such is life

Dad was moved to Tallahassee FCI which is a woman's prison.. don't worry, he's in the detention center which is for only men.. However all I think about when I know he's there is the shit that went down in '06. FBI got wind of 6 guards trading contraband for sex w/the female inmates and came to arrest. One of the guards went gun happy killed 1 agent & injured another. He was shot to death by agents.. BTW this all took place in the FDC which is where my dad is.. I never knew that until today.. Just thinking I was standing in that same spot this past weekend kinda freaks me out..

So yes I went to visit dad this weekend. I was FINALLY able to hug him. It'd been so long. He's already lost some weight (which is good). Where is now he finally has TV and can go outside for an hour daily (which beats the 3hrs a week from Orlando). The place has really good food for Federal prisons I hear. Dad had Mahi Mahi for dinner last week!! He's still suppose to end up in South Carolina, but the bop is taking their sweet time. Tally is great b/c my bro lives there and can visit him more..but dad hears things like Oklahoma & Atlanta (which has 23hr lock down!) before he's suppose to end up in Edgefield.. WTF?! The not knowing part is what's kinda driving us all a little crazy.

Dad's writing a book about his experiences on the inside. I've only read a few pages so far, but it's pretty---funny actually. Dad was always such a great story teller.

Oh and his counselor at the prison saw why he is there and she just couldn't believe it... She's like "Pot is still illegal?" I'm sure dad was elated when he heard that........

I did meet the Governor of Florida (Charlie Crist) at dinner in Masa.  Very nice guy. It was kinda cool. :)

This Sunday is our 1yr anniversary. Damn, that went by fast! :)
