Yup, I sooo got this from
mistress_kabuki's site, so don't blame me if it makes you pull your hair out! That's my disclaimer for complaints... ;-)
Directions:
Pick your top five series (I said series or fandoms, but whatever), list them, then answer questions behind the cut. No peeking in advance!
My Five Top Series/Fandoms:
1. Yu-Gi-Oh
2. Harry Potter
3. Justice League & Justice League Unlimited
4. Lord of the Rings
5. Vampire Chronicles
Question #1: Which is your favorite series from your list? And why?
I have to say Yu-Gi-Oh, and I actually ended up rating them as I listed them. I found it really hard to decide which ones to include and in what order to put them. Believe it or not, Vampire Chronicles has definately been on the list longest. I think I read Interview with the Vampire when I was in Junior High!
Question #2: If you were to pair two characters from 1 and 4, who would they be?
*blink-blink* Uhhh, omg... Um, well certainly not poor Harry and Gollum. I'm not exactly fond of the boy who lived at the moment, but really, I certainly wouldn't do *that* to him. Yuck!
More seriously, I guess Snape and Aragorn would be one funny-ass pairing. They'd just keep glaring at each other all the time, and both would want to try to take charge of a situation. But at least Snape would be able to survive in the woods (and learn how to fight against snakes...) and Aragorn would never die from poisoning! Hey, at least they'd both benefit! ^_^;
Question #3: What is one thing you'd like to change about 3's plot line?
Well, I'd really love it if they went into more detail on Batman/Wonder Woman's relationship. They kind of only touch on it in the series, which is a shame cause I think they're pretty well made for each other. I do like the Shayera/Green Lantern pairing, but sometimes I think they get too much attention as perhaps the only legit pairing on the show. Scoot aside for a bit you two, find a room, and let Bats and Diana talk for a bit. That'd be very cool to see!
Question #4: If both main characters of 2 and 5 were falling off a cliff, which one would you save?
Well, really I think Lestat could probably save himself if he was falling off a cliff, and judging by how Harry was miraculously saved numerous times in the HP series, I think he'd be okay too. Maybe I'd wait and see who went splat first? XD No, no, no, I have to focus here. Okay.
Um, I'd probably say Lestat. He's kind of goofy in the later VC books, but he's a lot more fun than Harry. When the trio were in the woods in the last part of Deathly Hollows, I certainly would've shoved Harry off a cliff. (Hmm, do I sound a bit bitter still about the HP series??) =P Sorry guys, I'll try to be more objective here. lol!
Question #5: Which event was the most horrible for you in 1?
The end of the series. Wah!! I wanted to see it keep going and going. It was so much fun to buy the Japanese boxes online and sit down for hours at a time watching episode after episode. Talking with my friends about what we thought was gonna happen next, did Tea really love Yami or Yugi, why was Kaiba portrayed so differently in that version compared to the English dubbed one, etc, etc. I think I mostly loved it going because I loved to get into the story and think about the different situations the characters were put in. Each had a very unique personality and each were put in really crazy situations that sometimes even changed the characters personality. Like poor Mai!
Too bad I'll never know what happened with her and Jou. ;_;
Question #6: Which is your least favourite character of 2?
Hehehe, (don't say Harry, don't say Harry, don't say Harry!)
...
Dumbledore. Yup, it took me a few minutes but I finally decided who it was. My reasoning for it is because he's always just hanging about, nonchalantly controlling people's lives and not caring what happens to them. Like all the stuff he left behind for the Trio, leaving Snape in charge to take the brunt of the payment for his mistakes, crying to Harry for forgiveness after he practically brainwashed the poor kid it seemed, not urging the trio to accept outside help (like Lupin or McGonnagal or the Weasleys or even Snape). It was like he was just setting up the old regime of the Order for disaster and death and wanting to leave it all for Harry, Hermoine, and Ron to handle.
I really hope they change some stuff around in the two Deathly Hollows films....
Question#7: If the antagonist of 3 were to rape the main character of 1, what would you do?
HAHAHA! Okay, well first of all there are a lot, I mean a LOT of antagonists in JL. But okay, since Batman's my favorite of the group, I'll just say that the Joker would be the one to rape Yugi. Wow.... poor Yugi. ;_;
I think I would cry my eyes out first of all cause Yugi's so innocent and the Joker's so... well... cruel. I think he'd be a pretty nasty rapist if he wanted to be. But jeez, I really don't think even the Joker would care to rape a kid like Yugi though. Especially with a Millennium Puzzle that could mind crush him or banish him to the Shadow Realm whenever he wanted. Now that I think about it, I don't know if Joker would even be able to get close enough to him to rape him. Lol!
Question #8: What song reminds you of 2?
Omg, I guess I'd have to say the Harry Potter theme song from the movies just cause the films were what got me involved in the series to begin with. The french horns coming in on the opening theme title, especially in the third film were just beautiful. And now every time I hear it I think of the HP series. Always of Hedwig flying across the screen in front of the Hogwarts Castle at night strangely enough. Isn't that a scene straight from the film? I can't remember... =(
Question #9: Of 1, 3, and 5, which is the easiest to think about?
Definately the Yu-Gi-Oh series simply because the characters are so interesting and multi-faceted. I never get tired of pondering about some of the things that never got explained entirely in the series. Like Seto and Mokuba's background, of Yugi's missing father, of the Kaiba Bros' original parents, etc.
That and the TCG always brings me back to thinking about it again. ^_^ When I'm not quite this busy I'm usually dueling pretty regularly at least with my close friends if not in tournaments. So its always something cool & easy to think about for me.
Question #10: Are the protagonists of 2 and 4 similar?
Actually I think Harry and Frodo are quite similar. This is of course partly due to the fact that I think JKR pulled alot of her info from the LOTR series, but also I think the ideas are the same. Both characters have something about them that gives them an unusual connection with the enemy - the Ring for Frodo, and the Scar for Harry. Also, both characters end up getting majorly distracted by power right when they're supposed to be concentrating on their goal. Frodo decides he wants to keep the ring for himself and Harry decides that the Deathly Hollows are destined for him. It's really kind of creepy how many similarites there are.
Oh yeah, Death Eaters = the Ringwraiths. Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn along with the people of Gondor and Rohan decide to distract the enemy while Frodo makes a mad dash for Mount Doom, and all of Hogwarts decides to distract Voldemort while Harry... runs around the castle looking for Horocruxes and... Ron and Hermoine make out? Yeah, I don't think that was going on in LOTR, so maybe there are *some* differences!
This was pretty fun! Hope you enjoy it - it certainly made me look at my fav fandoms/series in new ways!
