That was unexpected

So my trio of protagonists were told to seek out a contact, and um, he kind of turned up dead. I definitely didn't mean for that to happen! Trying to decide now how he died and if it'll be leading to the real baddie or not. Hmm, decisions, decisions! I guess there are worse things to have to decide on.

I'm amazed I got my wordcount today considering how exhausted I was during work. I was hoping to take a nap once I was done, but circumstances were against me. My dad accidentally locked himself out of the house and needed rescuing, and we decided to do early voting today. I didn't even know they did that around here! Then a visit to Home Depot to pick up supplies for my broken closet. All in all, a very busy day, and I had resigned myself to not getting anywhere with my NaNo writing.

Very glad I turned out wrong!

Project: Smoke and Witchcraft

Summary: (Slightly updated...) My trio of protagonists (a werewolf, a half-vampire, and a sharpshooter) head to New Orleans to investigate a series of unexplained abductions. So far this pulpy paranormal will have plenty of banter, a slew of fistfights, undercover operations that fail miserably, battles of magic, a necromancer seductress, a coven of witches with a bad rap, and a ton of zombie alligators. Also I plan to toss the damsel in distress idea on its head since both guys will likely need saving. Oh, and did I mention awkward romance?

Progress: So they made it to New Orleans! A little worse for wear, but not too bad. Colton reflects on the awkward relationship he has with Mary since she and Rennick used to be lovers. I have a feeling I'll be able to use this for much hilarity later on. I'm such a cruel writer. Did I mention a side character ended up dead? Hehehe, I guess that's the bane of being a pantser. Sometimes your characters live to see their scene appear, sometimes they just don't. He must have worn a red shirt that day.
