A fresh start

Ah yes, a new year. I was in Wausau for Christmas and New Year's, and got back here (Eau Claire) as fast as humanly possible. Being there isn't home anymore. But I am home now, and that's all that matters.

The semester ended very well. It was my best one academically, ending with a 3.67 GPA. It brought my cumulative up 1/10 of a point, which I am very excited about. In other aspects of my life, it was a very good semester. There were a lot of ups and downs, but ultimately everything worked out okay. Things are going well, and I'm anticipating they'll stay this way. At least, that's my hope. My goals for the semester include working more (because I desperately need money), and balancing school, work, DZ, and my social life.

I'm going to use the time that I'm not working these next few weeks to get all organized and ready to roll for the semester. There are a lot of things I want to get done so the semester goes as smoothly as possible. The big thing is getting everything for my New Member Ed program in line. I'm going to make myself a timeline so I can keep things organized as far as when things need to get turned in. I also am going to get my lessons in order and ready to go so that once our recruitment period is over I will be ready to jump in and not have to freak out about getting lessons ready. Then I'm going to start planning as much as possible things for initiation. There's a lot of things that I want to accomplish with this office, and the more I can get taken care of before classes start the better off I'm going to be. It will help me for the fall semester as well, which is going to be highly needed. With having block, the more I have set to go and ready before things start the better it's going to be for me. Which in the long run will make things better for the girls.

It's hard to believe I only have 4 semesters of school left. 2 years from this point and I'm going to be a graduate attempting to find a job. That's really exciting, but it's also scary on a level. There are so many things that I want to do before then. For now, I'm going to focus on what's in front of me. No need to overwhelm myself too much before it's necessary.

I got an iPod for Christmas, and I am in LOVE. I love having all of my music with me all of the time. Last night I spent a lot of time loading what I have for music on my computer onto it, and then this morning I imported the CDs I borrowed from my brother into iTunes. Tonight after work I'm going to start with my Cds, and then update my iPod. I deleted a bunch of stuff, so I'm going to clear off what I have on it right now, and then reload the entire thing. Hooray for technology, it makes me happy.

My parents are being pretty damn awesome. They want me to have all of my financial records ready and in order for them when I go home next weekend. Every single bit. I can understand them wanting to know where my loans are at, because they co-signed for them. The rest of it is none of their business. There's no reason for them to know how much I have on my credit card and what my monthly expenses are. Nope. Not going to happen. So I just have to figure out how to deal with this in such a manner that they'll realize I'm not 13 anymore and can handle my finances. I'm working 2 jobs, and am looking for a 3rd. That's all they need to know.

I'm going to Milwaukee March 29th for the Rascal Flatts concert. :-) We're working on getting a posse together. I know Bargie and I are going to be leaving early that day so we can get there and get pit passes. So far it's me, Bargie, Manda, Dani, Ellen, and maybe Erin. I'm hoping to have a final count of 6-8 people. It's going to be a hella good time.

Anywho, there's some more stuff I need to take care of before I head to work - Westgate's chicken dinner.
