I haven't really done much of an actual update in quite some time. This semester has been very...interesting, for lack of a better word. I don't really know how to describe it. I've learned a lot about myself, the relationships/friendships I'm in, and just things around me in general.
There's been a lot of drama as a result of a certain male...we'll call him Tom for fun. Never before have I experienced as much drama as I have because of this...ohy. Things were really rocky, and after a month of not being sure where things were going to go, we're back on track. He's my best guy friend, and I'm super happy things are on their way to how they once were. It's going to take some work, but we'll get there eventually. If anything, I think everything that's happened is going to strengthen our bond and make our friendship that much stronger.
I no longer work at ShopKo - I am now employed at Lane Bryant and Westgate Sportsman's Club. Lane is just the usual retail, except I love it. The women I work with are amazing, plus I get a phenomenal discount. For example, last night I spent $84 - had it not been for employee discounts, it would have been $250. Hooray for that. At Westgate, I'm banquet waitressing, and once I get my license I'll be bartending. That job was completely random, and I'm excited for it. I work my first wedding next Saturday night.
Classes this semester have been going very well. I'm not too worried about any of my grades, and this should bring my GPA way, way up. Not that I need it, because I'm in the School of Ed. :-) It's still hard to believe that I'm in, and that I'm actually going to be Miss Bahr. I still can't get over how fast this semester has flown by. 6 more days of class, then it's finals week. Damn.
My parents are finally accepting the fact that I'm not going to be living at home this summer. It took Parents' Brunch for them to see how much Delta Zeta means to me, and how close I am to my sisters. I'm not sure what exactly changed their minds. Maybe just seeing the organization that has brought me out of my shell and shaped me into the woman I am today. Whatever it is, I know I'm beyond thankful for it. Now, I don't know how they'll react to me not being home over winterim, but that's another story. I'm going to make more money working at Lane and Westgate than I would working at ShopKo. That pretty much settles that issue in my mind.
Other than that, I don't think there's a whole lot to report on. My life is busy, but it's okay - I love my life. I wouldn't have it any other way.
