Disappearing Act
Once again, I find myself suddenly five months down the road and having not written a thing since October! Not good...not what I want. When I was younger, I used to write all the time, but now, life just keeps getting in the way. Having said that, I now have a lot to say. Prepare for a book!! ;-)
Right this moment, I have a drought of helicopter stories to tell, as we do not have an aircraft now. Our last project left for paint about three weeks ago, and since then, I've been helping one of the other teams order parts and get organized. There's been some drama about that- a coworker who takes issue with the fact that I get to organize while everybody else, poor fools that they are (sarcasm? Naaaah!!!), gets to work on the helicopter instead. Believe me, I'd MUCH rather work on the helicopter- that's what I do, after all, and ordering, inventorying, labelling, and sorting a couple hundred incoming parts is a poor second. But apparently I did such a good job on our team's last few projects that somebody took notice and now I've been permanently stamped as The Parts Organizer. I still get to do actual maintenance, but getting the other team organized is the first priority. Ah well. They do say no good deed goes unpunished.... With luck, most of the drama will blow over soon, the mountain of incoming parts will get resolved into many, many tidy, well-organized kits, and my team will get an aircraft in to work on...
