I grew up with Star Trek, I've watched some of every show, and much of a few. I'd spend evenings with my Dad watching Next Generation and wishing I could go into space. But only if the spaceship was as awesome as the enterprise. Now that I've done the requisite gooey nostalgia bit, voici.

we don't LARP, but the games are definatly engaging. We don't focus on combat, it's mostly character play and stuff

No, there is combat, it's just not combat oriented. Some sessions there's a lot, sometimes there's none. Usually it's a light mix. Right now the game feels a lot like a mystery book. Later it'll get a little more into the High Adventure once the characters are better developed and we know them more.
