Whew, back in Tokyo.
Things have been a bit of awhirlwind the past few days but finally Im somewhere I recognise once more.
Kyoto rocked, Osaka was a city as all cities are. We saw a play, probably not the best idea to ask me what all it was about, but what I understood was good and the costumes and sets were amazing.
Had an interesting experience with dinner tonight, ordered some ume and grated daikon soba and it came complete with what they call 'grated yam'. Its not a food for the faint of heart. Relatively tastless in the same way tofu is, but its slimy and sticky..kind of the texture of a raw egg mixed with glue with none of the taste benefits of the glue. I ate about half, the flavour was actually okay but it left my mouth feeling odd.
The hostel tonight is tiny but the internet is free. Im sitting knee to knee in the common room listen to people discuss movies in a foriegn language, not to bad we just gave our personal reviews of Constantine.
Tomorrow we head up to Hokkaido where we get a couple days rest before coming home and I get to sleep in a real bed and won't need my earplugs..or the eye mask I bought while staying in Osaka..that was quite the place with a university hndball team and a group of junior high students. The managers of the handball team were in our room one night, the cutest girls Ive seen, we left them some souvenirs so they collectively gave me a romance novel, lipgloss and one used earring. It was touching.
I should head now though cause I thinktheres people waiting to use one of the only two computers that let people on hotmail. Bastard of a mac across the room is playing nasty buggers with the internet. Fah!
