So..this could be interesting, I don't seem to have written anything in some time.
I learned an interesting fact at work the other day: British driver's licenses don't count as photo ID, as they have no pictures. Which makes one wonder how people know it truly belongs to the holder. I took the number and cashed the cheque anyway, I doubt my supervisors care and the passport was good enough.
Thats about all I really feel like writing about now, it's been an awful day as far as things go.
Upon rising, I discovered a residence acceptance package waiting in the mail, which means I have somewhere to stay next year, and that was about the one shining point.
See, the kitten. She's stayed out all night a few times, and we stopped worrying as she always shows up at 5 for her morning walk with my mom and the dog. I swear the animal thought she was a dog too. This morning however, she didn't come home.
My dad found her this afternoon at the side of the highway, it's across the street and up the bank from our house so she must have gotten over-adventurous during the night, and she was just a small cat.
Four months, four months with us and she'd come to the door when I got home to greet me. She figured out how to open the cupboards to get at the dogfood, and that the plastic pulls from orange juice cans were the best toys. And she's gone.
First cat..the first pet this important to me to die. I never developed a connection with fish or birds, and the last dog and I, we generally just tolerated each other (I was two and she had been abused when we first met). But Scout was part of us from the beginning, she had all the quirks needed to fit into this house, and somehow four months felt like she'd been with us forever. It feels kind of silly to get so upset over a pet, a cat, but to tell the truth I liked her more than a lot of people I've met.
I only got her after my Nana passed away..it was a sort of family joke.
