So she had her semi-annual "geriatric exam" today. For the first time, it was not good. She's lost a pound in 6 months and the vet heard a heart murmur. This may be a sign of heart disease, kidney disease or hyperthyroid problems. They took blood and I'll get the lab results for tomorrow, but any which way it comes out, the vet warned me we might be in her last months. There are treatments for all of these, but it could just be that she's old and her little furry body is giving out. On the other hand, it might be as simple as special cat food. She seems totally fine, carrying on as normal, no symptoms other than weight loss. Still, I think I'm a little terrified.
