Watched the "V" Pilot Tonight

It was ok. Good enough, or perhaps a bit better. I was very lukewarm (but patient) with it, but I think it took a slight turn for the better with the big fight scene and the, um, betrayal at the end. I also liked the juxtaposition of some of the scenes ( Read more... )

I don't know if I'm sold on it yet or not. The fight scene was good, but I can't say it was 'cool' because I could practically hear the director telling the aliens, "Okay, now run it and kill things like you're velociraptors!"

The only really cool moment in the book was when they were doing the 'street interview' clips and the one kid said "This IS Independence Day!" and his friend blasted him that Independence Day was a rip-off. Which it was, of course, of V (I mean the ships were almost exact copies!).

Ugh man, SO bad! It makes the original look good (and having re-watched it not too long ago, it isn't).

I think the lack of choice of sci-fi/fantasy on TV makes fans less discerning.
