My first year of college has ended. I'm deliciously plumped from over-indulging valentine's chocolate and have yet to reverse its ill changes. I now drink coffee by the week and not by the day. Matters of which concern boys have remained steady as I'm still with Logan Jones. My fear of dorm bathrooms has apparated. I can now properly sit in full-lotus, and can bake things your mother couldn't in her fanciest of day dreams. ;-)
I feel I've accomplished much this year, and the 9000 dollars in loans proved to be well spent. Here's a list of things to boast about for any of you that care... If not, the magic power of the scroll bars shall glide you safely over the conceited sands of Agrabah.
I got two great friends in addition to Marylin I could actually talk to without flinching.
Allies, a GLBT program I revived is now ready to start this year.
I helped put on a successful GLBT week at Stetson.
I played piano in two musicals... Musical of Musicals The Musical and Zanna Don't.
I received an award for Most Outstanding Freshmen in the music school.
I can proudly say I'm on really good terms with at least 5 professors for network purposes.
I helped two people come out and be proud of their sexual orientation
After what took me months to finally build up the bitch fluids to do so, I got two cafeteria assistants fired for making horrible food and fooling around behind the counter of the Hat Rack Grill.
I got to tutor two beautiful kids at an elementary school, and at least attempted teaching at a middle school.
I helped out with STAND and Kaleidoscope
I made the dean's list both semesters
I survived Dr. Sapp's class.
I read the entire Twilight series just so I could tell people how horrible it is. Although I did fall in love with Edward Cullen. Not gonna lie.
I've improved as a musician and as a pianist
I taught this summer at the Miami Conservatory of Music
I won a piano competition and got 500 bucks, which all went to beautiful Urtext editions of works by Schumann, Mozart, Bach, and Haydn.
I managed to survive the workload of a bonner student, music student, and pianist
I now listen to contemporary music which would have never happened a year ago.
I produced some of the best recordings of performances I've ever done.
I made my way into university employment as an RA for this coming year
I had master classes with two renowned performers.
I learned to cook better than my mother. This is my most prized accomplishment, because she's damn good. <3
....
Aug 5th I return to Stetson University, and hope to raise the bar. I'll also be cooking and baking now that I'm living in an apartment.
If I had to say one thing that made this year most memorable, it would be drinking coffee with Marylin at Boston Coffee. <3 Btw Boston > Starbucks.
