To has Stick is to has Inner Peace.

Mook is coming along fabulously in her training at puppy kindergarten, although she was shown up by an eight week old Toller who could already focus/sit/down/stay last week. In Mook's defense though, the tiny pup is the ward of a profession dog trainer, and Mook is the ward of...well...me.

So we got her a halti yesterday. For those who don't know, it is a face collar that slips over the nose and behind the head, and it allows you to lead your dog by the nose rather then the neck, thus pretty reducing most pulling behaviour which Mook needed. She isn't used to it yet, but it works really well so far, and she doesn't hate it as much as I thought she might.

The sun is shining today and so some awesomeing was done with her in the backyard. The following is photo journally.

We begin with a nice "Down".

Followed by a pretty "Sit".

After some training it is time to play with the stick she found on her walk and insisted on bringing home.

Mook suffers from a condition known as Crazy Stick Want. This look is a sign.

I love the look of extreme focus here

Got it!

We let her chew on the sticks a bit as long as someone is there to supervise

but since sticks can be chewed apart there is a chance that a dog can swallow sharp shards, or choke on the pieces, so Mook knows that we're going to take her stick away before that happens. She dreads it though.

Mook's back teeth are still cutting in so she blisses out while chewing. To has stick is to has inner peace.

Her grown up coat is starting to grow in, which I am happy about. She is reddening up nice too, and looks beautiful in the sun. I think she knows it too. She's a proud dog even at five months.

Maybe not everyone wants to look at my dog, but looking at her is good for you. Like vitamins.
