I Challenge You!

I had an assignment for writer's craft, the idea of which was to write at least one paragraph using as many cliches as possible.  It was ridiculously fun!  I challenge everyone else to do the same! :D

Write me a drabble using as many cliches as possible, for any fandom, and I'll make you a pretty  banner!

Cliches *Italicized phrases were used in the paragraph(s) round as an apple First come, first served keep your head above water spring in his step familiarity breeds contempt every man for himself if ifs and buts where candy and nuts, every day would be Christmas spin a tale right on the money cold as ice Money doesn't grow on trees Not worth the paper it's written on. there is a thin line between love and hate last resort waste not want not age gracefully rule with an iron fist use it or lose it hold your own at the drop of a hat on the go in cold blood poetry in motion sight for sore eyes the light at the end of the tunnel sands of time rain cats and dogs at your beck and call crystal clear win hands down hard as nails dumb blond all that glitters is not gold two wrongs don't make a right icing on the cake solid as a rock tail between his legs the more the merrier the pen is mightier than the sword good things come in small packages out of sight, out of mind every cloud has a silver lining look before you leap some things never change home is where the heart is on her death bed held its breath the top dog ways of the sword clung to her like a child Paragraph(s): Keeping His Head Above Water They say that despite being round as an apple, the queen aged gracefully and ruled with an iron fist until she lay on her death bed. As her skin grew cold as ice, the kingdom held its breath, frightened of a future without a ruler. Because the queen had believed that every cloud had a silver lining, she forgot to look before she leaped and had a tendency to hire people at the drop of a hat, resulting in havoc following her death. Many of her men could not hold their own in battle, and as there is a fine line between love and hate, her son turned his back on the kingdom and began a war. A warrior who was hard as nails, the prince sent the enemy home with their tails between their legs, murdering in cold blood and making it crystal clear that he was now the top dog. Though he won all battles hands down, money didn't grow on trees, and all that glittered was not gold, so at the beginning of his reign he found that he had wasted the kingdom's resources on petty battles. Demanding that the citizens waste not want not, he brought his most loyal servants, who waited on his beck and call, and fled as his last resort. The promise of a new land brought a spring to his step, and after wandering through the sands of time, learning the ways of the sword in order to move like poetry in motion, he finally glimpsed the white light at the end of the tunnel where his mother waited. A sight for sore eyes, he clung to her like a child, reminding himself that for all of his exploring, home would always be where the heart is.
