Summary: One touch was all it took to free the spirit from the cursed staff.
She really should have known better, but Sango was so caught up in the moment that she didn't think twice about touching the staff before she had finished her inspecting it, and it took only a split second for the spirit to take advantage of her lapse in judgement.
There was a dazzling light that had her seeing spots as the spirit escaped the staff. It held fast, overpowering her senses and clinging to her. Though she couldn't see it, there was something unmistakably masculine about it. Her dread intensified when it whispered in her ear, radiating smugness.
