i'm back!!!

Dec 26, 2009 16:45

after the long long long hiatus to write a decent, long entry. well, lots have happened and now we're slightly settled down...i've finally gotten my lazy ass off the chair to blog! erm...yeah, i blog on the bed =P

yes...promised princesszhing that i'd write about my ROM/wedding party. hahaha...sorry it's almost a month late babe! but i suddenly recalled this morning that there was something i HAVE to write about!! no...that something is not good. it was probably the biggest let down on that day =( but i really thank God for the beautiful weather...otherwise it would have been quite disastrous...

it was a pretty mad rush! our original plan to check in at 2pm didnt work coz' the chalet refused to let us have the place...so when we finally went in at 3pm, thank God that the chairs, tables and all linen arrived at the same time (thanks Eddie!). so the guys went ahead with the setup immediately, while cy's siblings and i did the room checks and whatever crazy stuff. can barely remember what happened...coz' after my make-up artist came, i was totally oblivious to everything going on at the lawn area. probably what they call "bride's privilege"...leave the worrying to the groom and coordinators =)

our florists (Mrs Teo and Lindt, from 85flowers) and one of our coordinators (Nick)! noticed how the ladies were dressed close to theme too? albeit not really pastel but purple and pink! hahaha...i just realised also =P anw, i think they did a fantabulous job...and they're really patient ppl to work with~ so if anybody is looking for a florist who's modest and doesnt give you over-the-top designs, they're a pretty good choice. thanks to Zhingy for the recommendation!!!

our hand-assembled favours! had to keep reminding ppl to take before they go though...cy's siblings took home quite a lot as well. oh well...but i love how it looked in my mummie's basket =)

our shoes! cy was really amused on that day. he kept gushing abt how ppl were wondering how come he was taller than he usually is. yay to Walking Tall! elicia girl...i think it's a good investment =) but cy was saying that after a while...it gets tiring to walk in those shoes coz' they're quite heavy.

tadah!! my food tags made it to the pictures!! and thanks to the pegs, i recovered every single one of them in good condition =)

this is my favourite pic of my march-in! hahaha...see ex-colleague at the back "pouring" the petals? hahaha...totally hilarious. when i saw this pic...i remembered how when we walked to the front, my mum threw a bunch of petals in my face, instead of throwing them upwards so that they fell gently on my head or something. hee! and when we started walking down...my dad said in mandarin "dun walk so fast...must follow the beat. the song so long, u walk so fast for wad". hahaha...that tickled me. i wonder what he said to my sis when he walked her down =P

our JP was a most organised gentleman! when he came, he opened his briefcase and whipped out props for the table. he had this wooden thing with his name...and he put up a lil Singapore flag even! impressed some of my friends totally...even my bro and sis got a shock. and when we asked if we could read our vows off paper...he immediately handed us laminated samples to select and read from. a big WOW!! thank cy's lucky-stars...since he was the one who randomly picked after we couldnt get our 1st 2 choices.

some other pixies~

ok...so here's a pic of the biggest let-down.....

firstly, the groom cupcake was not "black" like i was showed in the picture. secondly, they were not even tasty!!! *sigh* nevermind if they had been overly sweet or too rich or whatever...but they were tasteLESS. that's the problem. totally regretted not asking my mum to just make plain-looking orange-zesty ones. i could have gotten the tier somewhere and it wouldnt have even cost me that much! rawr! super cheated. this dr*amy cupcake co. is not so dr*amy afterall. please please please please do not order from them ever! anw, cy, nick and i did a horrible thing. instead of disposing the left-over cupcakes ourselves, we made the girl (who came to pick up the tier) bring back the whole deal. rawr!

but yeah, i think we did an okay job =) at least it was a wedding done the way we wanted...without the hassle of planning seating arrangements and worrying about corkage/wine/beverage charges and stuff. thank you all for gracing our wedding and for those who didnt manage to, it's alright...there're always other opportunities to gather =) ookie...shall go get some other stuff done! Happy Christmas everybody!
