Why hello, wonky thumbnail sketches!
So yeah, this will be all silhouetted vector stuff. And my personal title for this .psd right now is "NICK'S AWESOME DATE", because he is one romantic dude. Nothing like a bit of magician-attack to spice things up. Can you beat a pick up line like, "If I see something move, I WILL STAB IT"? I do not think so. (Well, okay, Mae goes for seasickness and chains, so who's to judge.) Also, I bulked Nick up-- comments from the "pink and gold" image noted; Mae and Nick are totally the wrong size next to each other in that one. I might go back and fix it, but it's a huge edit, relative to the brushmarks. :\ Damnit.
These next two will be a blast! :D This image contains thumbnail doodles for two scenes I love-- Mae helping a grumpy vulture with his homework, and Jamie having a flirtation fail.
I'm getting better at human faces, and I really want to play with these expressions (forgive me, I'm used to animating squid, spiders, and dinosaurs-- I'm trying to keep human facial proportions right, but it's a rocky road.)
The cooking scene actually reminds me the most of *coughDropDeadGorgeous*, and it makes me squeal every time. Because I'm a dork.
....And I did this thing of Mae as a lineless-coloring test: I was sort of high on either paint fumes or
Emmy C's art (holy crap, she's like a bucket of talent in a blender! Her existence both makes me love humanity and cry a tears-of-i-suck-arrrg!-sadness.)
It probably gets no more edits or love, since I don't think it's very interesting.
