So, I get up every morning, put on a red shirt (of doom!), and report to the office bridge to help my boss captain battle unruly tourists aliens. Yup, work is just like Star Trek. Only, our aliens travel by train, and they don't all speak perfect English. ;-) And there are times when I'd do anything for a phaser in my hand.
And that's just the day job. I've been working double-time lately (in case anyone was wondering where I've been... no? Okay, moving right along...) with orchestra work in the evenings. I even ended up working on my rostered days off. *whine*
And what have I learnt?
Well, a few things, really. For instance, people who want something that will take at least ten minutes of your time will inevitably enter the office within five minutes of closing time. And in Australia, the $2 coin is illogically smaller than the $1 coin. Oh, and in the US, the word 'stamp' has two syllables. How odd we Kiwis must seem to the rest of the world...
Ack. My weekend's nearly disappeared. My well-intentioned plans for getting back to the fic writing this year have crashed and burned... so far. Not sure what I'm going to do about that yet.

Um, this is embarrassing, but it took me approximately 4¼ hours to make this post. Wow.
